We engage in unnecessary squabbles and supremacy battle over almost everything in Nigeria because we are not a serious people. The snobs and privileged ones will make degrading and dehumanising remarks about other people, they will relegate, belittle and denigrate people below them, somehow it boost their useless egos, meanwhile some of them are not innovative/critical thinkers It only in Nigeria you will hear things like 1. My tribe is better than yours 2. My school is better than urs, but you are still jobless with your certificate. 3. My car and house is better than urs 4. We speak ill of okada riders, but we can't do without climbing okada in a day 5. We don't like security guards but we need their services. 6. He's just a shoemaker, but you can't do without patronising them. 7. He's a mechanic man, but you will go there when your vehicle has fault 8. He's just an ordinary school teacher, yet he/she is educating your kids. 9. He's just a bricklayer, but you will sooner or later call him to repair your house or shop 10. He's just a farmer, but he's eating better than you. 11.She's just a house girl, why hiring her if you can do everything by yourself? 12. The so-called working class and political elites are fighting for better wages but back home they treat their domestic staff anyhow, they pay them peanuts and rain insults/curses on them everyday. Just know that everybody cannot be a university or polytechnic graduate, or be working in a nice place like you because of different family backgrounds, so appreciate other people and respect them for who they are. Our mindset and mentality in this country is bad, such unholesome behaviour should be stopped, that's why we remain backward and underdeveloped, we don't behave like civilized people, we have too many educated people without the right values in our society. The segregation among the poor masses is even more worrisome nowadays. Seun, lalasticlala myn44 please do the needful |

I think it's poverty of mind, silly conparism and competition. But the truth remains there must be something one has that you won't have, somebody must be better than you in one area. We should celebrate each and be inspired to worker harder not compare who is better or has better thing. |
