It could be the wiring of the house. I have used one similar to this before and it was burning all sockets and infact tripping off the whole house light. It was the electrician that told me that these hotplate have as high as 3k to 6k watt and the wiring of the house dies not have stamina for it. He gave me 2 option,
1) He will have to run a wiring directly from the light source in the home down to the kitchen and put a socket I can use on it
2) buy those 2 cooker hot plate made in china. They always have max 2000 watt. Can't burn anything
