Yeah here they promote 8K also in Belgium. But it's hard to keep up and constantly buy the latest tech because it's waaaaaaay to expensive as early adopter. I have a 4K computer display because I did design work a lot, but I don't even have a 4K TV.

Because constantly streaming 4K content strains the internet connection, and 4K digital cable signal is still so much compressed that it's way worse then a 4K blu-ray ultra disk. I just don't see the benefit for me at the moment. A 4K OLED from LG cost around 1250 EUR's here. That's around 600,000NGN. It's a lot of money and to be honest and I hardly watch any television because there is not many good programs on it in my opinion.

I love to watch nature documentaries and for the rest its mostly talkshows and commercials haha.
Again for me personally, I don't see the benefit in a 4K television at the moment.

No no, you clearly misinterpret me. I say that when the content is not there it's marketing BS.
I don't say nobody needs a 4K television or can buy one. But it doesn't make sense when you can't deliver it a 4K (UHD) signal.

For instance, you need 25Mbps at least to stream 4K (UHD) Netflix. I'm not sure about everyone off course, but it's not steadily available for a lot Nigerians. Also watching an hour of 4K Netflix (sorry they call it UHD content) uses 7Gigabytes of data. Also not always available for everyone to watch for hours.

Me wey still dey watch movies for 480p.

This is complete nonsense. Imagine saying this in 2022.
There are multiple sources for 4k content. A PS4 Pro or Xbox one x outputs in resolutions greater than 1080p. Even a regular PS4 has HDR output support, and HDR isn't commonly found in 1080p TVs. You can also watch content from USB flash drives or streaming services.

We pay 130 euros per month which is about 62k ngn. For that money we get:

- unlimited digital 4k signal for the channels available. The channels suck for me personally.
- unlimited high speed internet 1000Mbps theoretical download, which you never get obviously.
- 2 mobile phones with unlimited.

Now here is the tricky thing. Unlimited means 750GB per 30 days. If you go above it they flag ypu as poweruser and cut your speed for a while. They use a fair use policy.
750GB sounds a lot. But if you play flightsimulator 2020 a lot, download a lot of larger creative files and use a lot of 4k streaming you could run into problems with the policy.
But I am not gonna complain at all, we have a very good stable connection for a fair price. I know we are spoilt with an infrastructure like this. Keep in mind 62k ngn x 12 months is quiet some money to pay yearly too. Specially on top of all other expenses here. Our standard of living is very high but we pay a looooot of bills hehe.
Now again Im not complaining. There are a lot of people doing with a lot less then I need to deal with and I hope a more honest world comes for all of us one day. Even if that means I would have to lower my standards. I am pro redividing of wealth. Some have 300 billion times more then others. Thats just not right. I don't blame rich for being rich but we have to be social with them who have a lot less. In the end sharing is caring. We all leave with empty handed. So racking up the millions is useless in my opinion.
