All roads led to the ancient city, the birthplace of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State. Nigeria’s cream-de la-cream of politicians, socialites, academia, administrators, traditional rulers and of course ordinary Nigerians converged at the palace of the revered Emir of Daura, HRH Faruk Umar Faruk, for this auspicious epic as the Minister was laurelled in traditional regalia as the first Dan Amanar of Daura. Many comments on Nairaland have proven how others play with the minds and emotions of gullible Nigerians, many people are so dogmatic to believe ordinary political analysis on newspapers and TVs. In the North, it is very common to give traditional titles to people who contribute to the development of that particular community but the title is entirely different from the one inherited by birth. Amaechi has done so much for Daura that PMB couldn't do for them. When PMB was PTF Chairman, he never had the intention to build or renovate Kano-Daura road but some of his staffs insisted that the renovation of that road considered. Beside that he didn't do anything for Daura, he doesn't care at all but all of a sudden Amaechi proposed Rail Line that will pass through Daura, he is right now building Transport University in Daura. What favour will Daura people ask from him? That is why he is turbaned. Those thinking that PMB is planning to give Amaechi ticket because of this should change their minds. Sarkin Daura was big enemy of PMB, he was nobody but his loyalty to PDP gave him the seat he is on today. Yaradua chose him over his siblings and relatives because of his loyalty to PDP after the death of late Emir, Bashar. PMB's associates suffered in Daura a lot and the sarki as a staunch PDP member never expected PMB to be President as such this title can't in anyway be linked with PMB at all because PMB is fully aware of everyone's past around him. So, deducing this turbanning as a clue of PMB's direction is laughable and self deception. Politics is now very delicate than it was under PDP. Whatever the case may be APC's flag bearer must suffer to clinch the party ticket, it will be a very big battle! 1 Like 1 Share |
