All kinds of people have so far led this country in different capacities: intellects, illiterates, good, bad, ugly, honest people, thieves, clergies. You name it. Yet, nothing has changed.

The truth is that one good leader can not change this country. What we need is a system of good leaders, where our people are ready to turn their backs from selfishness and greed for the collective good of all.

@ the emboldened. It's not true. Nigeria is developing, but our concern is that the rate is extremely slow and disappointing.

People cannot just turn anew unless a system force them to do so.
The system and the structure, not the people can bring the needed change.

It is called freedom of speech. I don comment on the Igede thread already, and your brothers already dey there dey show their character. Be that as it may, even if I don't comment on the thread, that should be no one's business.

Do your thing let Omenkalives do his. The forum is big enough to accommodate us all. You see me complain about your own conduct anymore? undecided

I know professor Soludo means well, but transforming Okpoko will be very difficult. What will happen to all the shanty houses there and their occupants? Well, I wish the governor-elect well and hope he succeeds in this onerous task.

The number one steps to achieve clean environment Such as what he is proposing is by investing or installing a company that will stransform every waste bin into useful materials like generating cooking gas, plastic from waste bin so that people can take it as a means of occupation to gather all the trash in the city summit it to the company and get paid for it.

How you usually shy away from predicament and bad governance hitting your State Benue baffles me. There's no city without a slum not even in developed first world countries.

Demolishing Okpoko won't be difficult. Well built edifices, banks, monuments have been demolished in the past in the quest for urban renewal talk more of Okpoko full of shanties and poorly built houses.

I don't shy away from the fact Benue state governor is the worst governor on the planet. One Ikpeazu is better than one billion Ortoms. I've said that a million times here.

I know slums exist everywhere but you and your brothers insist Alambara is an Eldorado, made up exclusively of Gazillionaires. cheesy

In addition, na you and your brothers de claim Ortom is god simply because he insults Buhari daily, and hammers you people's mumu button weekly.

So, you see, you no get talk. BillionairesVille is a shithole, according to your incoming government. Deal with it. wink

Let them lose it. U haven't been to Okpoko that's why. U can't drink water in most houses there. Very dirty and filthy environment. Anything short of demolition won't give Okpoko a new look because I remember Ex Gov Peter Obi constructing Ede Road – Owerri Road and Channelization of Sakamori drainage to check environmental menace yet the place remained unchanged. Outright demolition is the way forward.

Yes, a lot of people are already doing that. In fact, most Northerners in SE are what they're into. Both iron and plastic scrap is what they pick and gather for recycling.

Onitsha clean up should include the following.

1) Massive road rehabilitation and reconstruction within Onitsha metropolis.

2) Immediate expulsion of touts and agberos stationed in different strategic places extorting unsuspecting and innocent traders and cyclists.

3) Ban on street trading.

4) Ban on illicit dumping of refuse at the road side.

5) More waste bin in government mapped out refuse sites.

6) Picking up all mentally deranged individuals and transferring them to their homes in Nteje.

Your no 6 is in line. Anambra seems to have the highest number of mentally deranged individuals roaming the streets..u will see some talking and laughing to themselves, some hailing agberos. Both women and men. Awka and Onitsha seems to be competing for mad pple roaming the streets
