Many are Star studded teams considered as favourites in the history of football to win trophies but yet fail to go beyond the first round, beaten by those considered as underdogs. One thing I have learnt about life is that the same people who will praise you when you are successful are the same people who will mock you when things go wrong . I can remember this same Senegalese team being tagged as being OVER RATED when the qualified from their group with 5 pts scoring just a goal. If things had gone smoothly for the Super Eagles you be singing a different song. That is the life of we humans.

Would the same be said if Senegal had lost to a seven time winners Egypt? Perhaps it will be said how EXPERIENCE matters more than a parade of Star players. The Egyptian team have been winning the AFCON tournament with mostly players from their local league. (Food for thought)

If Senegal had lost, I bet the castigation will begin with Saido Mane, little will the same people remember about him playing at Liverpool as a star player. He won't shine despite being a star after losing that penalty in regular time if they had lost the game. Alot of sentiments will come to play against them like how can a team that is yet to win the AFCON be able to win a seven time winners Egypt. Any team can reach the final and win in the game of football it is not always about big names.
