Y'all are out of your minds clearly. Africans are living in the bondage of religion. Who bible help? Haven't other Bibles burnt in the past? I can and have burnt bibles, it means absolutely nothing. Are there no other items that didn't burn?

If God does everything He can, the consequences of human actions will not be meaningless and purposeless. God can make me dumb when I want to lie against an innocent person. God can paralyze a man when he tries to rape a woman. God can even make the woman impenetrable against the rapist. But God does not do these things because He made us with freedom of action. He gave us freedom because He has predetermined the consequence of every action. So, if you leave your Bible where fire can touch it, God will not save the Bible to prove that His word is permanent. The biblical statement that the word of God shall not pass away does not mean the holy Bible is non-flammable. When some houses containing copies of the Bible get burnt, the bible copies also get burnt depending on how the copies are kept in the houses.


If you set your Bible on fire, the back covers and the edge will definitely get burnt. The Bible may not get completely burnt because the pages are air-tight. Burning is difficult or impossible without air. Only a very old Bible with deformed edges and loose binding can easily get completely burnt. Dictionaries and other thick books are not different. The only way to make a thick book burn completely is by tearing the book into pieces or by socking the book in an inflammable liquid.

Are you sure you know what it means for someone to shoot himself or herself in the foot? If you are talking about the bold sentences under the apology section of my comment, they do not even justify your claim of I shooting myself in the leg, because I corrected myself for those 3 sentences. I did not make those 3 sentences out of ignorance. It was just a matter of not spending enough time to analyze my comment before posting the comment. And I did not try to deny the error. I admitted the error and apologized. I can just edit my comment without highlighting those 3 comments.

Regarding your statement about fetish things and all power coming from God, you are making a mistake. Using fetish powers to protect a Bible is different from God protecting a Bible. You may accidentally receive get hit by a bullet and God will save you. But when bullets are fired at you and you are deliberately getting closer to the shooter without the bullet touching you, that one is not God in action. That one is juju. So, God protecting you against a bullet you accidentally received is different from juju protecting you against bullets you deliberately and repeatedly receive.

my dear no need for an apology. You said it all I'm a Catholic, while I was in Kano, there was this rev fr Tom Tracy. Once when asked in our weekly bulletin, about what to do with an old Bible that is out of use. He said you can throw it away or burn it. His explanation was that the word of God is not caged inside a single copy of any Bible. That the phisical Bible is just like any other book, it's our faith in them that give power. Except someone deliberately burns it to spite God it becomes a problem. Forever the word of God is settled in heaven. A particular copy may get old torn or burnt. It does not affect the infallibility of his word God bless you

The Bible itself is not God's word. The Bible is just a paper on which God's word is printed. God's word can be written or printed on the walls of a building or on the body of a car. The Bible is not even the original (first book) container of God's word. Do not misunderstand me. I do not mean the Bible should be handled anyhow. The Bible, of course, should be handled with care for being a container of sacred (God's) word. But the Bible, having God's word does not mean the paper (Bible) is an apple of God's eyes. No particular copy of the holy Bible is special to God, even if that copy is bought or blessed by a Bishop or a Pope.
