There are three women shortlisted to be the godmother to a baby. One of the women is a Muslim and the priest is saying the Muslim woman is out of it because of her religion. Is the priest right?

We all think he's wrong too and she's actually the top choice. Also he's not a pastor but a priest. I don't think that matters but I had to correct my initial post.

What is wrong with some of U? Correct me if I'm wrong, d godmother list is for the child's baptism ryt? If yes, why would U consider a Muslim for a Christian ceremony?

Are u ok?? Why not invite a native doctor is religion is not a problem. What generation of christians are we raising these days? The essence of god mother or father is to encourage the child and strengthen his or her faith in times of doubt or despair. God mother's or father should come from the same denomination not just any christian. If u are a true believer not just jus everybody will serve as god mother or father if u care about the spiritual live of your child. I come in peace

Go ahead and invite the Muslim woman into the church on the day of Baptism and the child's dedication. She will enter wearing her hijab. That's appropriate right?

The whole purpose of the Godfather, Godmother thing is to assist the parents in raising that child in the most God fearing way, as Christians. How is she supposed to do this if she has no foundations in Christianity?!? What?, she should take the child to a mosque and teach him that he has 70 virgins waiting for him in the after life abi.

Your godfatherisms and godmotherisms - your traditions - have absolutely nothing to do with scripture or Jesus Christ.

I am afraid your confusion in this is deeper than you ever begin to know.
