Delta State Govt Shuts Down School Where Teacher Flogged 19-Month-Old Baby To Death (Photo)

The Delta State Government has shut down a primary school in Asaba, the state capital, following the death of a 19-month-old pupil, Obina Udeze, IgbereTV reports.

Baby Obinna died from injuries sustained after his teacher, Emeka Nwogbo, allegedly flogged him last Monday leaving marks on his body. The little boy fell ill and was admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba where he d!ed on Saturday, February 12.

Reacting to the sad incident, the state Commissioner for Basic Education Chika Ossai, said the investigation showed the school was not approved by the state government. He said the school has been shut down as the proprietor does not have an operational license.

The accused teacher is currently in police custody while investigations are ongoing.

Many private schools are filled with degenerates masqurading as teachers, compusory mental evaluation should be added to interview process.

The owner should be prosecuted for operating a school without a permit. It is amazing how such can happen right there in the state capital. What happened to the education inspectors?

Government should ban the use of Cane in primary and secondary schools. Pupils are not animals.

The property should be completely taken over.

Its a murder case. The Teacher should face a death penalty and Delta State Governor should please not waste time in signing the execution order so that the heartless fool of a teacher could be sent to the gallows before the end of this year so he can die early enough to meet his fellow ghost in the yonder

Flogging is not part of teaching.

The only thing I love about Israel is just their Education system.

No formalities between teachers and Pupils/students. Teachers are said to be called by their names,no uncle or aunty. This makes the study fun and lovely.

When it comes to Education system, I give the distinction to Israel(though I hate the country for little or no reason).
