What's he still doing in the criminal gang called NPF? Just earlier today, I saw them extorting some young men. 2 Likes |

They are two categories for applicants into the (para) military and they are the short service or officers cadet and the non officer category. Sometimes, graduates who have HND or BSC and above apply for the officer category but don't get it. What they then do is to apply for the non commissioned officers category with the basic requirement which is WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and or Trade Test certificate. It doesn't matter what certificates you possess before joining the force. What matters is possessing the minimum required cert to join a particular category. It is just like for example if the NASS says the minimum cert for being a Senator is WAEC, OND for governor and HND or BSC for president. If you possess BSC or HND but used your WAEC, what you will get is Senator if you're successful. You would be surprised how many non commissioned officers are degree holders. Some got their degrees before entering the job as other rank. Some got after joining the force. Getting your degree after joining as other rank with WAEC does not automatically make you become an officer. Nah. You will get normal promotion every five years and the highest would be MWO / AWO (for the military) except you successfully convert. A corporal is equal to a level what in the Civil Service sef? 2 Likes |

You may be right but it helps a great deal if his name is Adamu. Oba Olutayo, Ojukwu and two others knew what they were getting into in the military. Yet they joined at low level derided as "book soldiers". They later got promoted. But never trusted. Obasanjo eventually retired Oba Olutayo. The fact remains that they are feared and never trusted because they know one day they are going to become their boss. So, they would rather frustrate them out. How can a degree be useless in such a large organization? In this case, you cannot discount the Igbotic factor. asanausana91: 1 Like |

Phut: Madam, please calm down. When you want to apply, you would see the categories and requirements on the site. For the military, the non officer category recruitment usually comes first before the short service own. You cannot use a higher degree like HND or Bsc to apply for the non officer or recruit category even if you have it. The requirement is SSCE result. The officer category requires HND or Bsc and you cannot apply with SSCE. Everything is applied and filled on the website. You only go with the printouts and other relevant documents for the physical screenings. It is similar with all (para) military agencies. There are some certs that can give you an edge but that is for the other rank (for the military sha). For example, in the Nigerian Navy, NCE would give you AB (Corporal). But you are still a rating and non officer. But you will senior your mates that joined with SSCE two ranks. For the Airforce, Trade Test cert can give you Lance Corporal (one rope). What you apply with determines the category you be in and your rank. 2 Likes |

tutudesz: That should not even be the question sef. What you should have asked him is how many of his brother's regulars who went to school after joining the job and applied for commissioning got it? The way he said it, you would think immediately you get your degree, you can just apply for commissioning and you will get it. If it was that easy, no recruit would remain as recruit. Before his brother even got the army job as a private, does he know how many people applied from his State and Zone? Only him and few others from the state were enlisted. Does he think it is because he is better than the other who didn't get enlisted? For commisoning, sometimes it is five or less per State. 1 Like |

The group said: “Dr. Nnaji Ebenezer Chibueze, a native of Umuezibuoko Umualu in Isiuzor local government area of Enugu State, has remained in the same rank as a police corporal three years after bagging his doctoral degree. It is our humble opinion that something is wrong here unless police authorities have a cassu belli for refusing to regularise his rank in accordance with his educational qualification This police man still did NOT understand that NIGERIA is NOT for him. He thought that going to school and enriching his mind would give him a leg up above the uncircumcised FULANIS that are running the police. The irony is that this same police man would be sent to kill his own people in the name of keeping NIGERIA ONE and he would gladly oblige. I hope this serves as a lesson to all the UNITY BEGGARS on this platform that NO MATTER how you kiss and lick FULANI a$$, you're NOTHING but a SLAVE as far as they are concerned. 2 Likes |

Rugaria: Even though he had a bachelors degree, he chose to join as a recruit (SSCE cadre), he didn't join the officer cadre. The Police will not reject you if chose to join as a recruit with your bachelors degree. |

Amojii: You are now bringing an ethnic colouration into an issue you obviously have no idea about. Have you inquire if the cop informed the Police authority that he had B.sc, or applied that he will be undertaking a masters and PhD program? And if he applied, was his application granted? And the masters degree was it done on a part-time basis such that it didn't undermine his ability to discharge his duty? If it was done on full time basis, then the cop will have to pay back all the salaries that he collected during the duration of his studies. All these are the issues. The case of the cop abound in the civil service. Where civil servant attain educational height wthout the express knowledge or permission of their employer. It is a negation in the Civil service to go to school without seeking the express permission of your employer. So let's not pander to sentiment. The rules are very clear. 2 Likes |

tutudesz:yes u are right. They are Masters degree and phd holders as other ranks in the military. Some of them apply as commissioned officers when the opportunity comes....some are lucky to b commissioned some are not, life goes on. This man's case is not different. The qualification to be recruited as a recruit is SSCE and OND, so if he hid his BSc n applied with his SSCE then that's his problem he Shud even be penalized. It is clearly spelt out when applying. Promotion comes after every 4 years or so. 1 Like |

Lesson, no matter the hunger, never eat crumbles. He entered as recruit . He will now go from corporal to CP or what? May we never be stranded in life, He took the offer(corporal) to keep body and soul together then, now with PhD, he can leave Police force for something better. |

Instead of staying on the roads to collect Roger he was jumping from classroom to classroom, was he not employed to work in the first instance, code of conduct must be applied. Channel those energy to help salvage the images of the force. 1 Like |
