On a serious note, Ukraine thinks joining NATO will guarantee their security forgetting the same move can annihilate their entire existence as we know it.
If the US was geographically positioned at current Russia, and all situation the same, will they allow Ukraine to join NATO?
If Ukraine's membership in NATO is inevitable, and Russia shelves their invasion plan for some reasons, they might as well go setup a big base in Mexico with all their nukes pointed towards the US mainland.

The west dont care about ukraine, they just want to use ukraine as a launch pad to deploy weapons and attack russia. They just need a justification to do that. Putin knows that it will not benefit him but the west. However, he would restrategize.

Because he knew either ways everything was on him, what america succeeded in doing was arm Ukraine to the extent any invasion will be costly on Putin. The NATO allies stood their ground in his own backyard, as it is there is no more concession for Putin. Also what you all must know is when intelligence operations fail in achieving it's goal, it's when military action takes effect.

Don't be deceived, Russia actually wanted to invade. They had done it before but the collective will of the West made them to tactically jettison the idea. Russia economy will take unprecedented hit which can lead to her citizens rising up against the Government for this needless war.
