omoolokunEsin:let me tell you, we the southerners are saying the presidency must come down to the south, including the igbos Yorubas ijaws etc. WHY? WE ALL SAID FOR EQUITY, equity right? good, everyone agreed is the right thing to do,BUT WHEN WE RETURN HOME TO OUR SOUTH WITH THE PRESIDENCY WHICH IS A PRODUCT OF EQUITY,THEN AND JUST THEN THE YORUBAS WILL QUICKLY FORGET ANYTHING CALLED FAIRNESS AND EQUITY. WHO IS A FOOL IN NIGERIA. THE IGBO ARE GOOD TO BE GOVERNED BUT NEVER GOOD TO GOVERN. IF EQUITY IS THE RULE THEN LET EQUITY PREVAIL EVERYWHERE. WE REST OUR CASE. 2 Likes |

omoolokunEsin: Contemporary history? Go and learn how NADECO was formed in the SW. You are inadvertently cultivating NADECO 11 by not supporting justice which stipulates that it's the turn of the Igbo to present a successor to President Buhari. SW needs to support the Igbo to present a successor to President Buhari so that the presidency moves down south after PMB. But if the SW APC continues to object to Igbo presidency of Nigeria in 2023, because SW APC believes SW must be rewarded for voting more than the SE for Buhari, that's cultivating a calamity for the whole south waiting to happen. |

maybet081: SW APC asks north to respect zoning of the presidency between the north and the south, so that the presidency moves down south after PMB. But in the south, the SW APC objects to zoning because it's the turn of the Igbo to present a successor to President Buhari. How then does SW APC expect the north to respect zoning of presidency between the north and the south in 2023? Once the north supports a northern presidential candidate, no southern presidential candidate can win Nigeria's presidential election because of the political structure of Nigeria which has 19 states and Abuja in the old Northern region but only 17 states in the old 2 southern regions. A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states, after winning highest number of votes, before the candidate can be proclaimed winner of presidential election. 1 Like |

onuman: We're saying the same thing, sir. The Yoruba MUST support the Igbo as the Igbo supported Abiola. But upon all their support way back in 1993, it's only in the Southeast region that Abiola did not garner any appreciable vote. APC too should field an Igbo even when it's obvious that the bulk of the Igbo votes always goes to the PDP. But the APC shouldn't mind that point. Perhaps they're no longer the party of the Fulani and the Yoruba are no longer Fulani asslickers. History has a strange way of recalling past errors and abuses. There's absolutely nothing anyone can do about that. The facts are there in the newspapers and in the hearts of those who suffer needless abuse from the people with sharp tongues and bad mouths. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Tinubu is the foremost politician in the south. He is campaigning on behalf of buhari and apc. He is doing selfless campaign. All south west kings are with him. I tell you. |

He started consulting SW kings beginning from osinbajo area. I believe many of those king would be ready to spend their money in the campaign if needed be. Its their biggest project ever. Tinubu is ready to spend all his money and even borrow money to achieve it. His gain is fulfillment. As his camp became the custodian of presidency. |

Ekpoudom: I wont argue with you, because l dont like arguing with fools but let me make one thing clear to you? C.V. is a document detailing a Persons's ACHIEVEMENTS IN LIFE, to-date. I am not talking about "Chicago type" of C.V, l am referring to VERIFIABLE achievements since one was young. FYI, Goodluck Jonahan was just an ordinaryTeacher Training Collecge Instructor (glorified Secondary Schoo; in bayelsa) with a PhD in one of the most useless Courses (Zoology).... apart from that, you cant find anything tangible on his C.V, to his name. If you are in doubt, just present his CV here for all of us to see. So, that he was a failure, is not something to be surprised about, just like the current, Certificate-less m0r0n in Aso Rock PYO's C.V above is just so intimidating and he lives it everyday |

naija4life247: Nairaland is just full of M0r0ns who dont think, before making sillystatements rcspy: See Kwesion! Nairalnders sha. PYO is not the LGA Chairman of Ijebu, he is not even the Governor of Ogun State! For crying out aloud, PYO is the Vice President of Nigeria. Your question would have made tiny sense, if you asked: what he has done for Nigeria, as Vice President. Whatever he has not done, or has done, is at the pleasure of his Principal, the President. Most of you ascribe some Powers to the office of a Vice president, because you have never seen or read Nigeria's fraudulent Constitution. That Constitution, that FRAUD of a Document, makes it very Clear that a V.P. cannot even clear the gutter in front of his House, unless at the pleasure of the President. That V.P post is worse than a 'ceremonial' post, it is a boy-boy post. And that is why l laugh at Igbos who prefer to PERPETUALLY be a Vice President to the Northerners, just to spite the Yorubas. Its a No-Brainer. But let me give you a Clue: Go and peruse the Record of the V.P., when he was the Acting President, for a very brief Three Months, and you would see how this Man can change Nigeria, within two or three years. Dont believe me, read it up. |

onuman: Your logic and that of my Igbo brothers, in this Presidency matter, is so flawed. "You" sound like, if you dont Vote for me, then l will Vote for for my enemy! At whose peril is that? Whether the Igbos vote for the SW or not, the Yorubas have always been President and will always be President, the Northerners know that and respect that. But we cant say the same thing for the Igbos, at least not in the last 50+ years! When Igbos restricted themselves to the PDP back then in 2015, we warned that Politicis is all about "Alliances and Compromise" but the herd mentality and hatred for anything SW, will not allow our Brothers to reason. All of a sudden, we hear that the Presidency will be zoned to the South, Igbos are shouting "give it to us" of we will make sure those who have prevented us from getting it, will keep getting it. What a foolish, self-immolating logic. If you dont support the SW, dont expect the SW to support you but one thing is clear and history is the judge: Despite all your support for a Northern candidate, the North is avowed never to allow an Igbo President in Nigeria. So, the ONLY WAY an Igbo can be President in Nigeria, is to FIRST support a SW candidate in 2023 and the SW will support them to override the Northern Veto, a few years down the line and that can even be as close as 2027 Anything other than that, is to kick the can down the line.. I really wish Igbos will have Biafra because l want this fraud called Nigeria, to implode so, everyone can grow at their own pace. But even Biafra is POSSIBLE, ONLY IF the SW buys into it. In a Tripod called Nigeria, the Pot will fall over only if two of the legs of the Tripod, refuse to support it's weight. Before Igbos respond in our usual, emotional vituperations, THINK OVER what l wrote, with a clear head and mind. |

maybet081: Talking of EQUITY, can you reap where you did not sow? Ofcourse, you dont even believe what you are saying As an example, 1) Equity demands that PDP gives its Presidential Ticket to an Igbo, because Igbos have laboured for that party all these years. Do you agree with that? if you say "No", then you have sold your equity to Atiku, for a few wads of Dollars. 2) Equity also demands that the APC gives its Presidential Ticket to the SW (Yoruba), because they have laboured for that party and were instrumental to its taking Power in 2015. Do oyu agree with that? If you say "No", then it will be obvious you are a hypocrite. It will be UNFAIR to expect that PDP will pu down a Yoruba Candidate (as opposed to the Igbo who laboured for them), just as it will be, for an Igbo to expect to be an APC flagbearer, against the Yorubas who laboured for the party. Now, let us assume an Igbo PDP Presidential Candidate and a Yoruba APC Presidential Candidate. Which of the the Two Candidates will finally win the Presidency? Who will the Northerners vote for (An Igbo PDP Candidate or a Yoruba APC Candidate)? But whatever is the result, it is based on Equity and Fairness. But as greedy people, you want to have the ticket of both parties, right? Whether right or wrong, you win! That is certainly not democratic, the Public must Vote for even a "Zoned Candidate", to test his popularity all over Nigeria. |
Re: 2023: Asiwaju Tinubu Visits Awujale, Tells Him About His Ambition by smallsmall: 11:54pm On Feb 14, 2022 |
onuman: You'all keep talking about APC, wich is a party that has nothing to do with Igbos! Why not talk about PDP where the Igbos invested all their Energy and Votes, over the years? Tha fact remains that Igbos have not have a taste of Presidency since Nigeria started her Democratic experience after the Civil War, because Igbos keep shooting themselves in the Foot. Igbos dont even have faith in theirown abilities to be President and that is why you hear them talking about a Plan to Vote for Northerners (knowing what would happen to them thereafter), just so that Yorubas cannot have the Presidency. When did you hear a Yoruba say: If Igbos dont Vote for us, we will ensure that the North gets our Vote and win the Election? Yorubas know that even without Igbo Vote, they can still count on the Northenr Votes to win the Presidency. It has happened in the past. |

smallsmall:thanks very much for your analysis, you talked about equity in the party system (APC AND PDP) This a very good evidence of your believe in equity, pls can you talk more on what equity demand when it comes to geo political zones. That is the problem with an average Yoruba man, they will always talk about equity in the party in the southern context because they feel that it favors them.but will at the same time pressure the north drop their 2O23 presidency ambitions base on zonal or geo political fairness and equity. if that applies in the federation then it must also be apply in the zonal sphere, anything short of this is cheating and hypocrisy, and the Nigerian problem keeps multiplying. ALLOW EVERYONE TO HAVE A SENSE OF BELONGING THAT'S WHAT THE IGBO ELITES ARE PREACHING BECAUSE THEY, MORE THAN ALL ELSE UNDERSTANDS THE FEELINGS OF AN AVERAGE IGBO MAN IN THE CURRENT NIGERIAN SYSTEM. This is not a political talk but just the reality. |

maybet081: thanks very much for your analysis, you talked about equity in the party system (APC AND PDP) onuman: We agree on a few things: = SW has ruled in the past, even without Igbo support = SE also needs to produce the President, because they haven't, for a while and to have a sense of belonging = The "North" has just spent the last Two Terms, up to 2023 and therefore, Power needs to devolve to the "South". That is a good background to the discussion, what remains is the "Procedure" to further break it down, between the Regions of the "South". I wont repeat myself but whether we like it or not, it is still a Democracy and it is a game of Numbers, Alliances, Strategy and Vision. Also, Nigeria does not allow for independent candidates so, like it or not, the President-elect, will be midwifed by a Political Party. So, we cannot rule out the "Party Effect". Specifically on 2023: The North is not going to give up trying to produce the President in 2023, you have seen that from their various comments and with someone like Atiku (Igbo's PDP candidate in the last two cycles) throwing his hat in the Ring and if we go by comment we read from Igbos, they are ready as before, to vote for Atiku (in PDP). Is that Fair and Equitable? I will assume that the SW are also banking on Voting for the Flag bearer of APC, the Evil Party, as Igbos call them. The SW has voted for APC in the last two cycles of election as well, so that expectation is logical. They are also hoping the flag-bearer of APC will be a Yoruba, if not a Northerner. (1) What l dont understand is how the SW, who have invested all their good will and effort in APC and hardly vote for PDP (at least in the last two elections), will expect the PDP to dash them its Presidential Slot, just because the Presidency is expected to be zoned to the South of Nigeria? What about the Igbos who abandoned APGA, an Igbo party, worked tirelessly for the PDP all these Years? Where is the Equity in that? You cant reap where you did not sow, that will be most Unfair to the Igbos. (2) Same thing applies to the the SE !. How can the SW form APC, nurture it and made it a formidable party, while Igbos put their Eggs in PDP., but expect the APC to just handover their Presidential Ticket to the Igbos in 2023, just because the Presidency has been zoned to the South of Nigeria? Where is the Equity in that? You cant reap where you did not sow, that will be most Unfair to the Yorubas! But Igbos will agree with scenario (1) while disagreeing with scenario (2)! There lies the Conundrum. In other words, Igbos think "Equity and Fairness" means "what favors only them" In my own estimation, l think the problem lies in the understanding that "You should not expect support, where you have not shown support". If you want support and think support is important to your aspirations, SHOW SUPPORT... to those whose support you will need. THAT IS FAIR AND EQUITABLE, NO MATTER HOW YOU DICE IT OR WHO IS AT A DISADVANTAGE RESULTING FROM IT. SW (Yorubas) really dont have much in common with the North, not by language, not by religion, not by mentality, not by global view, not by education, not even by method of raising children! But the SW supported the North in APC to win Presidency in 2015, and 2019, because they know that they will need the support of the North, after that. That is how, regrettably, we ended up with this Evil, Nepotistic "Mistake" as President! Pour Water upfront, to wet the ground you will walk on.....That is STRATEGY. Now that Igbos "expect" the Yorubas to support them to be President in 2023, it raises the following questions: Have the igbos supported the Yorubas to win the Presidency in APC/ACN in past years? Do they have a "Debt of Goodwill" to collect from the Yoruba/SW? Have Igbos "Poured Water upfront, to wet the ground they will walk on", with respect to getting the support of Yorubas? These are valid, fair and equitable questions, when it comes to DEMOCRACY. But if my Igbo brothers are resulting to 'Emotional Blackmail' (Yorubas are slaves, Yorubas are traitors, bla, bla, bla), 'Zero-sum game' (If Yoruba dont Vote for Igbos, we will Vote for the North again) or the 'Samson Option' (If we cant get the Presidency, we will ensure Yorubas dont also get it), i think the stakes are far too high for that, it wont yield the desired result we all want, it has not done so in the last fifty years plus and it wont, in the nearest future, except there is a change of strategy by the SE. to "Pour Water on the Floor Upfront, so we can all work on Wet Ground, thereafter" . I thank both of you, for your contribution to the discuss. |

smallsmall: Your Mr Simpleton political permutations are based on one assumption: that because the SW voted more than the SE for Buhari, therefore, the APC shall reward the SW with its presidential ticket this time. It never occurs to you that Obasanjo won in 1999 under PDP formed by Igbo Alex Ekwueme, when the SW refused PDP. FYI, the permutations should be on zoning/rotation of the presidency between the north and the south of Nigeria. Zoning/Rotation is necessary to keep the country one. Zoning/Rotation is necessitated by the skewed and lopsided political structure of Nigeria. For 2023, it's the turn of the SE to produce a successor to President Buhari. |
