This is the clear reason some hospitals insist on payment before attempting treatment. And if they did not attempt saving the life of that patient before payment, it's people like you that will blame the hospital..

and the patient couldn't survived after their exorbitant charges... I guess it's now time for proper bill to be passed so as to address a situation like this.you cannot expect someone to pay such a huge amount of money after they've failed to do their work because they think that at the end they'll always come with the saying that 'God giveth and God taketh gibberish....

What was the purpose of the surgery on the terminally ill woman?
Was she even strong enough to withstand surgery in the first place?
When will we learn to embrace palliative care and end of life treatment for terminally ill patients?
Why make the last days of their lives so painful, stressful and filled with so much anxiety & fear when we could have prepared them for the transition and made the process as less stressful for them and even the families?
We undertandably struggle to come to terms with the concept of death and losing a loved one, but it is sadly just part of the cycle of life.
May she rest in peace.
It seems our useless government has given up on the healthcare system in Nigeria. Even Nigerians have given up too

My candid piece of advice...if you like your family and loved ones, don't mistakenly take them to LASUTH. There's a lot of politics playing out there. Rather proceed to LUTH. Na Tinubu people full LASUTH, including his diagnostic centre which he hijacked from the hospital and named BT ( Bola Tinubu) Diagnostics. I wish humans could live forever. Smh!

This is so true. They drained my friend and his wife still died after spending about N10m within 21 days in the Intensive Care Unit. A night is N150k (Aside medication) and when he couldn't meet up again with the bills, they excused him and removed the life support machine and she died.
They seized the corpse till now for the remaining uncleared bills.

Death is not a disease, life is a disease, and death comes to cure it.

Now Child don't be scared of death for it's only a natural path we all must thread not just us but also people we care about, we either mourn them or they mourn us, which ever comes first, just be rest assured that it will happen, now while you're waiting for it, chose to live everyday of your life like its the last, spend time with them now that they're alive, prepare for every event and remember to live because once you're old and frail ,you only have regrets or fulfillment ,every moments count.

Any small thing Tinubu! Do you know abroad they won’t treat her unless she had coverage (insurance) and registered at the hospital?

Highest they’ll do is take you to ER to make you “stable enough” to be transported to ANOTHER hospital ?

We need MORE people to embrace insurance and more companies to embrace HMO’s!

Are you saying that if a patient is brought with a life threatening conditions that requires emergency or urgent medical intervention, they should not attempt treating the patient if their is no 100% assurance that he/she will survive? Mind you, most of terminal illnesses are costlier to treat. Or they should collect the money before attempting treatment? Or what are you saying precisely?

Detaining the corpse because of default in payment of hospital bills is wrong. This is called false imprisonment. The Social Medical Services Department should suggests ways of raising funds to pay the bills or the bills can be exempted by the hospital Management.
