Life!

My candid piece of advice...if you like your family and loved ones, don't mistakenly take them to LASUTH. There's a lot of politics playing out there. Rather proceed to LUTH. Na Tinubu people full LASUTH, including his diagnostic centre which he hijacked from the hospital and named BT ( Bola Tinubu) Diagnostics. I wish humans could live forever. Smh!

This is one of his achievements in Lagos, hope the youths from North to East are following up.

He converted state property to his own

You are not making sense. The fact remains that they are still owing the hospital irrespective of whatever amount they might have spent. Are you saying that the hospital should dash them the remaining balance and count their losses. Or what are you saying precisely?

That's illegal detention. They're supposed to hand her over to the police for proper investigation before prosecution .

Are you saying that if a patient is brought with a life threatening conditions that requires emergency or urgent medical intervention, they should not attempt treating the patient if their is no 100% assurance that he/she will survive? Mind you, most of terminal illnesses are costlier to treat. Or they should collect the money before attempting treatment? Or what are you saying precisely?
what I'm saying in effect, is that when a patient died during treatment and after depositing some money, laws should be made to look into it cos telling someone to pay almost a million after spending over a million without the patient recovers,it is absurd. Laws should be put in place to check the activities going on in the medical environment. There are cases when some doctors knew quite alright that they cannot treat a particular patient or they know that the patient will not survive the situation, but they'll still go ahead and starts treatment knowing fully well that cannot do anything, all is just to get the money through dubious means. Like I said, laws should be made available to look into such case cos it is wrong to demand such a huge amount of money just to recover a corps. Would you agree pay a huge amount of money on something like a vehicle just to collect it from a mechanic knowing that what they did does not rectify the fault in the vehicle?.let's be reasonable here...the medical system in Nigeria is so poor that they still demand for money even when what they treat does not work and they even collect money on their own incompetence and negligence....

Thank you... I don't see why people worry about the dead body so much.

The individual is gone and nothing you do can bring them back.
Nothing you do can please them.

Let the hospital keep it and use it for science.
It could be more beneficial to the living that way than to go give it to maggots.
Very heartless hospital.

Any small thing Tinubu! Do you know abroad they won’t treat her unless she had coverage (insurance) and registered at the hospital?

Highest they’ll do is take you to ER to make you “stable enough” to be transported to ANOTHER hospital ?

We need MORE people to embrace insurance and more companies to embrace HMO’s!

Not everything Tinubu... thank you
donwily, please educate this guy about your relation's experience after spending millions to LASUTH and eventual loss of his life.

They should pay the bill. These are the people that make it bad for everyone else. A hospital that has had this kind of horrible experience will not treat an emergency victim because payment may not be made. Worse, other hospitals see the pattern of deliquent payments and resort to pay before service.

Why should they expect her parents or husband to pay for a fail and poor medical treatment and surgery carried out by unprofessional and unqualified doctors?? There was a country really.

It's just so difficult to understand. The dead leaving debts for the living! It should be possible to slap the dead back to life to pay his debts.

If government could be relieving dead people off their debts wouldn't that be so nice?

On a different thought...this is Nigeria, my people will abuse the privilege and borrow the entire CBN...after all govt will pay when they kpai

This money is for the bills alone, they will still have to raise money for the burial and then have to pay the debt after
After all said, all the family needs is money.

we are all gonna die... if you believe you will live forever then the joke is on you.

Theunbothered:
This is wickedness, the family is already going through a lot, not even to mention that the lady died after their failed treatment
before entering the hospital, the family fully well knew that this was NOT GOING TO BE FREE....why biatch now?! dead or alive, someone's got to pay that bill.

SQLmastar:
But then let's digress. Shouldn't hospitals offer refunds if patients die in their care?
refund ke? the hospital is only gonna try their best to give her the proper service the patient requires, but if she dies OR LIVES, someone's got to pay for the hospital care he/she receives.... what you wrote is as crazy as asking insurance company to give you your money back if nothing happened to your car/house/life after a year. highly laughable!

Crap.. 1Million in debt yet the man still died.
So you either find 86 people to donate N10K or you accept that we are spirit beings that live in a dirt bag ( Body ) and possess a soul (mind). Which means that the real dude no longer resides in that dirt bag.
Why hustle for 860k plus funeral expenses.
I would leave the body and spend the money on the funeral to be attended by the living.
