Residents of Gpekure, Makuba and Galapai communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State are still in shock over the killing of some civilians and security operatives.

Daily Trust had reported how lives were lost when operatives who were on a rescue mission ran into explosives planted by insurgents/bandits.

Mohammed Ibrahim, a Civil Defence Commander, was among those killed in the tragic incident.

Commenting on the attack, Emmanuel Umar, Niger State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said, “We lost four of our security personnel who were in our security vehicle that ran on the bomb.

“I and other security agencies are yet to get to the point where the explosion took place because we are waiting for the bomb experts to inform us of the safety of the areas before we can go there.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in Niger, Wasiu Abiodun, gave details of the attack in a statement.

“The Niger State Police Command wishes to confirm that on 21/02/2022 at about 0100hrs, armed bandits/terrorists attacked Galadima-Kogo village, Shiroro LGA killing about six persons and set some houses ablaze.”

“However, joint tactical teams comprised of the Military, Police, NSCDC and Vigilantes were mobilised to the scene, and unfortunately while on their way, a truck with NSCDC personnel ran into an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) planted by bandits/insurgents along the routes and exploded.

“Consequently, as a result of the IED explosion, four NSCDC personnel lost their lives, while the driver sustained serious injuries and presently receiving treatment in a hospital, in Minna.”

He said commissioner of police had deployed the Police Explosive Ordinance Unit (EOD) to sweep the area with a view to defuse other IEDs that might have been planted in the area.

Niger is one of the states being affected by the high wave of insecurity in the country.

Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly taken over some communities in the state, hoisting their flag.

Different communities in Niger are also under siege.

While reading this news, I got to a point where I said to myself “it’s those normal parole for aboki people to die by bomb”. We don’t all know how this evil governing generation has messed us all up.

From fantastically corrupt institutions and to the society through their offsprings. Causing unnecessary social pressure.

Imagine Dino with the cars; even if I no do politics I go like drive that type car na. Come imagine someone like me for public office, why i no go loot 10.7 billion outa the 13 billion recovered from politicians if I get the chance?

This is average heart of every Nigeria politician

It's so unfortunate that Nigeria is at war with herself.

What even motivated that man called Frederick Luggard in the first place to even think of bringing people with different beliefs and cultural values together.

This administration don soak peoples blood for sand finish I swear angry

Nigerians are preparing to vote in another disaster as usual, so long as it's their tribesmen or from their religion the world can burn to ashes.

You can't continue to do the same thing over and over and still expect different result, only a mad person does that.

The truth is, Nigeria will hardly witness total peace and security with the present structure of Nigeria now.

The Northerners are united in poverty. Their elites are never united unless its time to loot they come together for a common purpose to loot Nigeria dry for their respective families.

They then use religion and tribalism to get their gullible tribesmen to defend and protect them from real prosecution. Once in a while, they use unfortunate ones among them to show example to deceive the rest of gullible Nigerians from the South that they are not coruupt by prosecuting them even though they will hardly serve the required jail term.

The saddest truth is Nigeria can never be united, you can't mix oil, water and grease hoping to form a soluble solution, it won't work.

Europeans are wise, all European countries are made up of people of same tribe. They all speak one language in their countries. They don't lump up millions of people of different cultures, values, beliefs, orientation and mindset together and forcing them to be united just because of free crude oil money.

Why didn't Netherlands and Germany form one country so they can answer giant of Europe?

Russia aka USSR tried that nonsense and it failed.

Nigeria and all Western African countries needs to be divided into smaller countries comprising of people of same tribes and culture. If two different tribes must join, they should share culture or dialect or religious belief or ancestral bond together and then if Nigerians want a robust nation, these smaller nations can come together as a united regions with each region having their own regional laws, bilaws, Police, etc. Then coming together will only be for military power, trade and commerce advantage, etc. This is what the United Kingdom that forced Nigerian regions together are practicing with Britain, Scotland, Ireland and Wales forming the UK. The same thing applies to United States. Even Chinese regions have their own governments. Australia, UAE, etc are all practicing the same united regions system with each region having their autonomy.

Why can't Nigeria borrow sense?

Nigeria security services doesn't have the expertise training to counter terrorists in the country.

The manner in which our government designated bandits as terrorists should tell you that they don't have the interest of the people at heart.

It clearly shows that our government doesn't value the lives of their security personnel and that of their family members.

No one is worthy to die for a country that cannot provide guarantee your safety.
So, so pathetic that these bandits are having freehand to do whatever they like.

Only in Nigeria!!

In the North, when terrorist kill military and burn their base the the military run away, but in the east, when yUGM and military clash, they go after civilians and burn the community.

What an irony
