Dapo Abiodun: Ritual Killers Will Face The Wrath Of The Law by Ebubu(op): 5:32pm On Feb 23, 2022
The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has read the Riot Act to those engaged in ritual killings in the state, saying they will be made to face the law if caught.

Governor Abiodun said this just weeks after four teenagers were arrested for beheading a young girl for money ritual purposes in the state.

The suspects were said to have learnt the art through Facebook.

In a statement on Wednesday, Governor Abiodun said propriety must be brought back into the psyche of children, adding that all hands must be on deck to arrest the moral decadence, particularly among the youths who are deceived that there is a shortcut to success.

“We all owe it a duty to stop this scourge by whatever legal means possible. I can assure you that we will fight this menace with everything at our disposal. We will not be identified by this notoriety,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Our culture frowns at this and we must bring propriety back into the psyche of the children who we will leave the future behind for.”

The Governor said ritualists will be made to serve as examples for anyone harbouring such sinister routes to wealth acquisition.

“For us, we have emplaced security measures in schools and all the villages, hamlets and towns to ensure zero-tolerance for ritualists. We will trail them, apprehend them, investigate them and make them serve as examples for those harbouring such sinister routes to wealth acquisition.

“You will recall that the Government made parents sign an undertaking on behalf of their wards as part of conditions for enrolment into schools the last term.

“This is to make them partly answerable for their wards’ vices and we are serious about stemming the tide of indiscipline in our state generally.

“Ogun has always been defined by integrity, hard work, service, valour and diligence. All hands must be on deck to arrest the moral decadence, particularly, among the youths who are deceived that there is a shortcut to success.

“Let me warn again, for the umpteenth time that anybody caught engaging in ritual killings and other crimes will be made to face the wrath of the law,” he concluded.

A good start, although a lot still need to be done.I recommend a swift judicial process for apprehended suspects and death penalty.

Execution should be given publicity to send a subtle message into the psych of aspiring ritualist.

Ritual killers would not face the wrath of the law because many of them kill for politicians who belong to various cult groups and would need to renew their rituals towards 2023 elections.

This I have seen.

The rate of ritual killings in Ogun is alarming. All hands must be on deck for this ugly incident to be curtailed.
Re: Dapo Abiodun: Ritual Killers Will Face The Wrath Of The Law by Penguin2: 6:14pm On Feb 23, 2022
How can they stop when skull mining constitutes 80% of Ogun IGR grin?

How would Ogun now survive?

Ndi ala!

Instead of Yoruba press, both print, audio-visual and social media, to launch a serious anti ritual campaign, they are rather fixated on Mkpurummiri, IPOB, propagation of Igbophobia and promoting an old senile drug lord who has started urinating on himself for presidency.

Thank goodness for social media.

Because Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Press had painted the picture that Igbo people in general are ritualists while Anambra in particular is the headquarters.

But all those lies have been bursted now. The world now knows who the ritualists are and where ritual killings is headquartered.

Igbos are too busy with entrepreneurship to have time to murder their fellow humans. Add that we place a lot of value on human life.

The slogan of ogun state should be "The Minning Destinations For Skulls" DMDFS.

My brothers my sisters, if you are entering that state for the first time, make sure you cover your skull with the blood of Jesus.

"Our culture frowns at this and we must bring propriety back into the psyche of the children who we will leave the future behind for.”

This is where I completely disagree with Gov. Abiodun, Oduduwa is the originator of blood sacrifice so his progeny are genetically tied to him;

For christ sakes apple doesn't not fall far from the tree. grin

Current situation in Nigeria

Re: Dapo Abiodun: Ritual Killers Will Face The Wrath Of The Law by diplomat058(m):
A smart Governor would not only commission billions to be pocketed in the name of anti ritualism campaign. The fight against ritualism is a psychological warfare. Many culprits are aided by mental mental and material poverty, and societal deliquence and ravaging craze for luxuries

Key suggestions:
#1 Massive revolutionary changes in human welfare governance and upping of human development index
#2 Relaunch of Awo-styled mass literacy programme. This could be backed with a minimum educations act that criminalize a parent/guardian no educating a child/ward up to a certain level. I have noticed that majority of the apprehended ritualists are illiterates
#3 Mass reorientation, including CONTENT CENSORSHIP. No more glorification of Voodoo and ritualistic practices on TV screens, Nollywood, and Social Media. People should be enlightened that killing a fellow human being does not bring money. Terminologies like "Blood money" should be censored publicly
#4. Reinforcement of local vigilantes to fight criminal deviants. It's high time vigilante activities become more regulates tors are properly trained as local paramilitary
#5. Tight Regulation of Babalawo and clergy activities. A register should be set up for national clergy and spiritual consultancies, including churches and mosques should be made to adhere to regulations and PAY TAX.

cool

What is that wrath??
Explain it here. Is it hanging or mob justice? Simply give the mob the power to unleash their wrath on anyone caught IN THE ACT or with substantial evidence.
By the way, has anyone noticed that the political lapdogs of Buhari planted on nairaland for 8 years now are slowly diminishing? His supporters who have always manned the frontpages and launched attacked on any critic of Buhari are slowly being retrenched.
