I beg to defer.

This attitude of having everything cheap in this country is the reason foreign investors are not enthusiastic to invest in so many sectors of the Nigerian economy.

These airline operators said they now buy aviation fuel at N410 per litre then add other charges that they pay at airports yet Nigerians want them to be doing Father Christmas for them.

Must you travel by air?

Look at Power Sector, we are against paying the right bills that will allow investors put the right money into buying and installing equipments and facilities that would have improved our light situation.

Now investors are not willing to borrow money and invest in the power sector because they can’t recoup such money since we insist on underpaying.

Same thing with subsidy.

We don’t want subsidy out even as it is totally unsustainable and highly weighing on the nation’s finances.

Please we need to stop that madness.

If we want quality, we must be ready to pay for it.

I’m sure most of those protesting are those who use 25k to book flight and take pictures to oppress people online to feed their fake live.

You speak as if you’re not in this country with their outdated planes they want to collect huge amounts offering someone Ribena and biscuits, have you experienced a local flight in other countries and see the huge difference? You speak about foreign investors coming to invest in Nigeria power sector those investments opportunities were turn down simply because our politicians in power have the companies that import generators how they intend to keep their business running by subjecting Nigerians to power outage so we can patronize them a reasonable government who want things to work won’t allow importation of generator, the total amount budgeting to power sector yearly have you asked how they managed the funds? Stop putting blames on Nigerians for shunning expensiveness of flight bookings

FYI Every Nigerian be it 25K, 250K, or 250m has the right to be heard.

Ok...international level u right, ....but here in Nigeria that some states still pay 10k as minimum wage?
Where is the job? Where is the pay?? Some states pay civil servants level 08 #25000.00 as monthly salary...
Do you know the cost of accommodations, foods, even that electricity u re talking about, do you know how much some people pay monthly? At my side, we barely have 5hrs electricity per day and they charge up to 20k monthly ( not prepaid meter) for a three bedroom flat..
If the masses get paid really really well, people will surely pay. I have someone that works in UK ( cleaner) she gets £600 weekly..and that's not only what she does.

I'm sure u re being self-centered or u dont live in Nigeria for u to talk like
this....

Let me ask you a question, what is the salary of an average Nigerian? What is the minimum wage? Most Nigerians don't earn up to 100k, so how then do you expect them to have the purchasing power? These airline operators are just doing what I call initial gragra. They themselves will have no choice than to bring the price down because they will continue to lose and it won't affect the consumers because they have alternatives except those that are in a hurry or those that are rich...

I humbly disagree.
Things do not have to be cheap but affordable. Hiking the price when inflation is at its highest , cost of living is through the roof. Salaries have not been increased is ridiculous . I understand that they airlines have to be competitive but at what cost ? Lets do the maths
5 people x N50,000 (250,000) against 50 x N30,000 ( 1,500,000).
The cost of maintenance is the same for 5 as is the whole plane - the Pilot and Flight attendants. The only difference is added weight means you burn more fuel. But how much fuel really justifies that much increase ?

Must they travel by air no - But the roads are terrible and people are susceptible to kidnappers and boko etc.

On Subsidy Power - make things affordable not cheap. Government have a role to play. 9ja is a very rich country in resources that everybody ought to be receiving a monthly stipend from the government but its going into someone's pocket.

Not every business investment is fast money, some ur returns comes slowly and over a number of years bt Nigerian businessmen don’t want to hear that bt yet won’t study the sector they are going into to know how it works. They think they can borrow money from smwhere and double it overnight by exploiting customers.

That’s why we have long term and short term investment opportunities so u choose wisely.

if there is stable power supply and companies raise tariffs gradually and sensibly, i am certain no one will protest.

the problem remains that most of these companies have first been taxed by those high up in government. so ofcourse they want to make their money back by any means necessary. unfortunately the reality on ground is not the same as what is often imagined which only means these companies have no choice but to jack up rates suddenly.

Must you pay more or high on commodities to show that you are rich ? Investors avoid Nigeria space because of high taxation and conditions according to you.
