I beg to defer.

This attitude of having everything cheap in this country is the reason foreign investors are not enthusiastic to invest in so many sectors of the Nigerian economy.

These airline operators said they now buy aviation fuel at N410 per litre then add other charges that they pay at airports yet Nigerians want them to be doing Father Christmas for them.

Must you travel by air?

Look at Power Sector, we are against paying the right bills that will allow investors put the right money into buying and installing equipments and facilities that would have improved our light situation.

Now investors are not willing to borrow money and invest in the power sector because they can’t recoup such money since we insist on underpaying.

Same thing with subsidy.

We don’t want subsidy out even as it is totally unsustainable and highly weighing on the nation’s finances.

Please we need to stop that madness.

If we want quality, we must be ready to pay for it.

I’m sure most of those protesting are those who use 25k to book flight and take pictures to oppress people online to feed their fake live.
No wonder you choose penguin2 as your monikers.
Let me ask you, what is the minimum wage in Nigeria?
What is the cost of running government?
What is the standard of living of an average Citizen?

the logical part of your brain is on holiday, else you would understand that Nigerians have no confidence in any Nigerian government to do the right thing. Since independence, the little that has been paid for by Nigerians, what value have they ever received in any sector, either considered favourably against First World nations or even neighboring African nations. You must be one of those earning 30k to spread false narrative online. You should be ashamed

This is selective comparison. You want things to measure up to other countries (most probably the West) but have you considered that income level and standard of living isn't on par. Nobody is against paying what's right if all other things are equal.

Your post just reeks of one not in touch with happenings in Nigeria.

Where do you expect them to get money to pay since you beg to difer? You have to consider how much they earn. That price fixing is a bad ideal.

You were both right.

The solution is to bake a bigger national cake.
We are so poor a nation, that Ordinary Google is richer than us.

And even the little national cake that we baked is being shared among the elites and political class.

Airline operators will not want to go under, so they will always put ticket at a price to maintain profit.

And because we are so poor a nation, the masses (mostly middle class) will be affected. Unless we bake more cakes such that will be sufficient for the polithiefians and elites to steal and enough remaining crumbs adequate to go round for the rest of the populace this kind of problem will persist.

The country’s income per capita is very low hence, majority of the middle class that drives the economy can afford paying for this services as obtainable in developed countries. There are country’s at par with Nigeria’s economy yet, their local flight cost is not high like Nigeria. This AON are greedy, that’s why they came together to decide on pegging price if not, why can’t they allow market forces to determine the price as obtainable everywhere?
