dollarsplenty:The truth is, it is not defamation if it is true. Defamation cases are the hardest to win by public officials, if the defendant are learned and willing to fight back. Defendants are entitled to discovery from the person claiming to have been defamed in other to prove their case. They are also entitled to depose them under oath and no public official will want that, especially in Nigeria because their hands are not clean and they don’t know which of their shady businesses will come to light if the process take it”s course. So, at some point if faced with a formidable defendant that is not falling for the intimidations, they will cut their loses and abandon the case to die naturally. 6 Likes 1 Share |
