Finland says debate on NATO membership 'will change' after Russian invasion

Finish Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Thursday said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will change the debate around NATO membership within her country.

"Finland is not currently facing an immediate military threat, but it is also now clear that the debate on NATO membership in Finland will change," Marin said, YLE News reported.

Finland has been debating for months whether the country should apply for NATO membership, with Marin saying it would require broad support for the country to move forward with an application.

It is quite obvious now that Russia is willing to react with force to NATO's encroachment. Its also obvious NATO does not have a stomach for military war with Russia. Otherwise they should have processed Ukraine's membership into NATO since Russia started its buildup. I'm sure Finland's application will not be approved while they continue the rhetorics of free will and sovereignty.

USA's objective has always been an economic war against Russia especially with respect to the Nord Stream 2 project. Goading Putin into invading Ukraine gave them a noble pretext to wreck the Russian economy. Ukraine was just a means to an end. Zelensky realizes that now. The icing on the cake is for the war to become protracted like the Afghanistan invasion by Russia. Ukraine will simply become another venue for the Russo-American proxy wars at the expense of Ukrainian lives.

Zelensky should bite the hard pill and sue for peace. You dont claim right of road against Iveco while driving beetles. Finland should beware too.
