Russian Forces Has Lost Some Of It's Momentum: Pentagon by peppermint7(op): 6:34pm On Feb 25, 2022
Russian forces have lost momentum in the invasion of Ukraine and are not advancing as quickly as U.S. intelligence had estimated they would, based on their assessment of how fast Moscow believed its troops would move, a senior Defense Department official said Friday.

During a carefully worded briefing at the Pentagon, the official said that the Russians’ “momentum in terms of progress to Kyiv has slowed,” adding that “they are not moving on Kyiv as fast as they anticipated it going.” He declined to say how American intelligence officials knew what Russia expected, but pointed to the fighting underway in and around a number of cities where Ukrainian forces have mounted a defense.

Russia has not taken any population centers, the official said, nor has it yet managed to achieve air superiority over Ukraine. The Ukrainian air defense and missile defense systems, he said, have been degraded, but Ukraine’s air force “still have aircraft in the air that continue to engage and deny air access to Russia.”

The official said that Russia has begun an amphibious assault from the Sea of Azov, near Mariupol, in the south. Thousands of Russian naval infantry are coming ashore there, with defense officials assessing that the plan is to move toward the city of Mariupol.

Pentagon officials warned that as of Friday morning Russia had sent into Ukraine only 30 percent of the 150,000 to 190,000 troops it had massed at the border, so Moscow could intensify its attack at any time.

Russia has established three lines into three cities, the officials said: Kyiv in the north, Kharkiv in the east, and Kherson in the south. Ukrainian troops are fighting to hold all three. Significantly, the senior defense official said, “Ukrainian command and control is intact.”

As of Friday morning, Moscow had launched more than 200 missiles — land, sea and air — at targets in Ukraine, as President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia continued his onslaught aimed at taking out the democratically elected government of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Ukraine will lose, but history will remember their bravery

Everyone thought it was a walk over! But the story has changed

Not even with “The Ghost of Kiev” shooting down 6 Russian fighter jets!

Remember the assault on Berlin in 1945. The soviet forces made a pause for some time making the Wehrmacht believe think could turn in German favor, then suddenly, the thunder started grumbling and growling over Berlin.

This clownish Pentagon should go and sit down.
During the opening phase of USA and Britain's invasion of Iraq, the fedayeen ambushed a US convoy, captured 3 soldiers, killed 14 troops and dragged their body on the floor with their car through out Iraq. It took USA, Britain and some other NATO countries 4 good weeks to fight all the way to Baghdad. It is just day 2 of Russian invasion this fąggot has started making useless analysis. Abeg make we hear word

I truly dislike this USA of a people, imagine, you are saying that they are loosing momentum, were you expecting them to take Ukraine within one day.

Just imagine, instead of them to be repentant about pushing a child to fight a heavy weight boxer.

From history, the Russian army is always very large, but very slow and easy to be defeated by a small army.

That is why if you love Russia, you would fear anytime they go to war, because their defeat could mean their end as a world power.

That's why Russia must always avoid wars.

It is not that they have lost momentum. It is just that they are always slow.

During the second world war, Russia went to war with Finland, but as small as Finland is, it was able to kill over a million Russian soldiers before Russia was able to beat them.

What is the guarantee that Russia can beat Ukraine that is more powerful, determined and equipped than Finland?

Also, Germany during the world war 2, was able to easily capture Russia(as large as Russia is). But when the German soldiers reached Moscow, they could have captured it the way they captured other Russia cities.

But they decided to rest for some days thinking that Moscow was already in their hands.

But the winter and the snow had negative effects on the German machines, and together with the assault from the Allied powers, the Germans were driven back.

If Russia was so easy to be penetrated and almost defeated, then Ukraine can spring surprises.

Also, during it's days as USSR, Russia was easily defeated in Czechoslovakia.

The observation is that Russia has large army which is somehow slow and easy to be defeated by a small army.

That's what happened in Finland. They had large army which is slow. Small Finland killed over a million of the Russians within days.

Today, they are in Ukraine, and as always, they are slow(since yesterday, they have been expected to start the assault on Kyiev, but they are no where to be found, giving the Ukrainian the opportunity to strategize and mobilize for defence) and the Ukrainian have started killing some of them who manage to come to through.
