That's where you also got it wrong . Because of the discipline these medical practitioners always do well in whatever field they venture into. Administration is the smallest
Mooh247:
cool

This is where Nigerian hospitals keep getting it wrong

Running an hospital isn't the discipline of a Nurse, Doctor or a pharmacist... It is strictly an administrative discipline with Medical and Health service Managers, and Hospital Administrator as their qualification

Same way Nigeria foolishly made Emeifiele a banking and finance Graduate to head sensitive Central Bank of Nigeria

We have seen how good they have done in the medical sector since Babangida and And Dr Kuti started hiring Doctors as CMD

Why do we have so many related courses to a medical doctor in Nigeria?. I see that as a discipline distraction and those courses should be scrapped asap.
You may be right

I think this may be a nice step in the right direction

My reason is that when I was taking care of patient in the hospital back in 2019, I associated with the nurses and they were complaining about a junior doctor without any experience heading the hospital

Considering from their perspective, their reason was that some of these doctors will be asking them what to do and may be confused sometimes and run short if ideas

In such situation, the most experienced staff in supposed to be in charge

total nonsense

Dr Bukola Saraki ran down his Father's bank Society Generale with depositors and investors crying bitterly

I guess that is one of his statistics that doctors do well everywhere

I think those people have more half educated persons as legislators than literate ones. That's why Nigeria is doomed with this kind of morons in power!

This is long overdue but NMA will sabotage it by going on another indefinite strike.

How
Re: Reps Consider Making Nurses, Pharmacists, Others To Head Hospitals by NoToPile: 8:40pm On Mar 02, 2022
I think running an hospital should be an administrative job it should not even the job of doctors or other health professionals. Those trained to run an hospital should do it. Let the doctors and other health professionals do their job of taking care of the patient.

Anyway the NMA people won't even agree to Johesu people heading the hospital

Nice one.

The best administrators in the health sector are not necessarily medical doctors.

This will go the way of America. Patients will pay bills through the nose, with sweat, blood and tears for basic healthcare.

Of course, the should as they are also part of the healthcare team.

Hope you have a Doctor and have sat down to know the years of training, the experience, the capacity and capabilities of being a Physician or you just want trend!
For instance,so a 2-years nursing personnel too can also head the whole Healthcare System as a part or because someone is popular,he/she gets vote to be directing the affairs of the Healcare!
Those House Members should rather spent time on something Noble, for I believed that Healthcare System will find her level on who should head them, not Politicians doing things in their own way!

Once it's passed in a bill and signed, it becomes law. NMC can't do anything about it. Besides there is no place in NMC laws and bylaws that state the only them must run hospitals. Besides what the reps want to do is make those other branches of healthcare be part of hospital boards

So JOHESU will now be leading us as our oga.

Everytime abroad this and that, do u treat ur doctors well same way abroad is treating their doctors? The small oga level we get u want make our eternal enemy take am.. kukuma tell them to lead medical team already...

I trust NMA to ignore this or else
The strike go long sha grin
Thank God private hospital headed by Doctors are there to take over asap. More profit for Docs.
