How much will it take to fix my PC screen?

Model is HP15
Core15, 8gb ram, 256 SSD, Win10 pro, touch screen

Bought new, exactly a year ago.

This thing scares me the most. A cloth hanger fell on my laptop and I couldn’t sleep for a full night, thinking the screen will get damaged. That was almost a year ago and the thing is working fine.

Since you bought the laptop new it should still be under warranty. Now, if you bought it secondhand, na to carry am go technician because I doubt warranties cover resale. Mine is about two years old and I don’t care to renew the three year window warranty because I’m very cautious with electronics.

How much? I have no idea. Fix it and let me know for future reference.

Seems you have no idea of what a refurbished laptop is, Sir. Even refurbished with the way you think it to be is closer to new in terms of grade. After that comes UK used and other lower grades.. You can't get a refurbished item without the word refurbished being written on the box.

If it's a manufacturer-refurbished, it'd come with the manufacturers original box and written refurbished and if it's a Sellers refurbished, it comes with a generic box.

With your statement, refurbished means fake.
I can't start to give you lectures on it but a simple explanation is this... If an HP 15 laptop of 3yrs ago is being recycled to have keyboard light options and type C which the old doesn't have, then that's an example of a refurbished laptop and if it's from the manufacturer's end, it'd have been properly cleaned, BIOS updated and everything done to look as good as new.

Refurbished is the next thing as good as new. Maybe next time before you classify refurbished in a bad light as fake, you should probably check the serial number on the carton of a laptop in comparison with what's on the BIOS in the laptop.

You have HP support assistant to help you know if it's a refurbished or not without opening the box.

Maybe you should look at your statement which you generalized: they sell refurbished laptops as new here in Nigeria before you reply.

I've also taken the pain by helping you out with Google in the screenshot below so that we can wait for you to explain what your statement actually meant...and as you can see, refurbished laptops comes with warranty

I get tickled in a way once I see some unpleasant things... Your laptop uses a 15 inches Paper Screen, Small Interface, 30.CH connector.

Breakdown cost: 30k (For used), 35k and above (new). Since it's a touchscreen, you'd get a higher cost and if it's a Full HD, just budget 40k for which ever.

Hmm. Nigerians really love secondhand items. These many comments from an obvious retailer have made me steadfast to deface my laptop with stickers to avoid theft. It’s sad that citizens will happily purchase stolen products while damning the consequences.

I tried to download Adobe InDesign on Google as a graphics designer, I have been craving to have the software on my pc, but I can't download the software and at the end, all my files are no longer open, they are all converted to VYIA FILE.

Plz how can I change my files to original file

The laptop was bought new and still under warranty. But from what I heard the warranty does not cover screen damage.
