Any Plan To Remove Governor Umahi Through The Back Door Shall Be Resisted - Umuekumenyi Warns

The Peoples Democratic Party nominee to replace Governor David Nweze Umahi, Hon. Idu Igariwey has been warned by Umuekumenyi people in Ebonyi State over plot by the party to "remove Umahi through the back door".

In a statement jointly signed by Dr. Ezeora Chris Achi Ph.D, President, Hon. Sylvester Iboko Jp, Secretary General and Com. Orogwu Benard, Youth President, the group said the plan to remove Umahi through the back door shall be strictly resisted by Unwuekumaenyi.

The group further warns of dire consequences of trying to short-change them and will not forgive any of them in their efforts in trying to deny us over our rights in 2023.

According to the statement, "The attention of Unwuekumaenyi has been drawn to the hatchet job of some Abuja based politicians to derail the smooth power rotation process of Ebonyi State Governorship position by liaising with external forces in efforts to remove the Governor of Eboni State who has barely fifteen months to finish his tenure and hand over to Unwuekumaenyi."

" Unwuekumaenyi as a people do not care about the political tactics and wishes to warn that the said nominee of PDP to replace the Governor through the back door shall be strictly resisted by Unwuekumaenyi."

" We, therefore, warn of dire consequences of trying to short-change us and will not forgive any of them in their efforts in trying to deny us over our rights in 2023."

"At the right time, Unwuekumaenyi will ask them what they did for them during the time they occupied very highly placed positions other than fighting every sitting Governor."

"Unwuekumaenyi is of the view that most of them should go and face their corruption charges in EFCC and numerous Court cases in their villages instead of partnering with external collaborators to destabilize Ebony State."

"We are by this publication making it known to the public that we are firmly standing with the Governor as we are convinced by his antecedents that he means well for Unwuekumaenyi and any effort to destabilize his administration and truncate his smooth handover to us at the end of his administration in 2023 shall be strongly resisted by Unwuekumaenyi."

IGBERE TV recalls that Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, sacked Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Eric Kelechi Igwe, following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo, held that the total number of 393, 042 votes governor Umahi secured during the March 9, 2019 governorship election in Ebonyi state, belonged to the PDP and same could not be legally transferred to the APC.

Afikpo people want to use style to retain governorship but the Abakaliki people are saying no that Umahi who's in Afikpo division should be done with his tenure and hand over to them. Kikiki
