Thank you for this. The issue with backtesting on mobile is it has a limited time frame like M5 may not be viewed beyond some certain timeframe and that’s my issue but I’ll try to still backtesting as that what I do during the weekends.

Gramps:

I think backtesting help in confidence boosting and patience. I try to create time for it and I'm seeing results already, and you can do it in a way that you backtest both winning trades and trades you would have taken that ended up in a loss, so that you can have ratio of wins to losses, so a loss taken in a trade using your model doesn't bother you much.

Same here brother, I used to deal with that issue, always procrastinating it, till I said f*ck it. I use only one timeframe(15m) when backtesting as tradingview scatters everything as soon as I change Timeframes. In the end we just have to make do with what we have at the moment. May the end justify the means wink.

p.s: this is an example of my chart after a backtesting session.

You are not alone bro,
Last week and this week have been the challenging week for since i went live,
The war really pushed me to the limits,

My account took a whooping 60%DD, at that point i was just waiting for the margin to call in and whip the account,
Last week and this week, i lost my entire prop accounts like 5 of them.

It's a bitter experience but it's worth it,
Now, i have better replanning for my props, so i don't loose them in the future,

Well it's part of the price we pay for greatness, I'm just glad I didn't learn this better lesson with a super high account. Omo, e for too choke

Good evening all. I don’t know if this is a phase I’m going through before consistency but I’m not confident of the trades taken.

I just feel like it’s all still luck and not conscious consistency. So I’m asking if anyone has been through this stage because I was surprised I caught a sell of 135 pips yesterday and I’m feeling it’s just luck but I followed all me rules.
No let anybody decieve you .. If u won give up .. just give up.. you done try boss grin grin.. the thing is .. forex trading is somehow luck .. everyone is just looking for hedge against the market ..I.e something or patterns that works majority of the time it appears on chart .. that is why risk to reward is very important.. imagine Trading 1:3 or 1:3 RR . If you loss twice and hit TP once.. You will be on profit.

Forex trading is not a quick rich get syndrome. I started this journey may last year in my final year in school. My very good neighbor and a friend brought me to the world of forex. I was just eager to start cashing out like him.

But my story was different. Blew $10 account 5 times. I paid school fees like no man's business. It wasn't funny for me that period. Some parts of my school fees and feeding went to forex. It was disheartening. Did I give up? Your guess is as good as mine.

I sat my ass down. Jotted all my mistakes like lack of patience, greed, using bigger lot size, lack of confidence, adjusting my stop loss, and lack of discipline.

But now the story is different. I thank God I didn't give up along the line.

To newbies, you really need to understand the market like it's yours. Know your resistance and support zones, trend lines are your friend, false breakouts, etc. Give it your time, learn, and study. I myself do study from time to time.

If I can, definitely you can. Trading is my world.

Good morning my fellow traders. More positive pips. smiley

You said it all cool

Me starting forex trading thinking I will cash out in one month grin

After 6months later, I realize that its all about patience, don't be greed, market makers rule the market as they wish, mastering strategy, stick to your plan, risk management, find another job to support your trading career in case if you go broke

Especially the supply & demand zones,

No wonder, I go see one big confirm bear or bull candle, ticking all the boxes for entry, immediately I jumped into the trade, price will just start moving flying higher against me ferociously

Forex trading is not luck if you're patient to watch the charts eg weekly and daily. Combining technical and fundamental analysis is key to success. Know when to sit on your hands.

Many may wish to trade gold on Monday but patient traders would wait until Tuesday to know the direction.

Besides increasing the lotsize arbitrarily could spell disaster. It's better to maintain a constant lotsize whether losing or winning.

Don't try to gain from every move. The saying goes: Bulls make money, bears make money while pigs get slaughtered.
Never buy into a resistance or sell into a support.
Be a sniper trader: Wait for that golden opportunity and profit from the major trend especially when there's volume in market.
Never trade on impulse.

Experience breeds confidence.
