[s] BluntCrazeMan:[/s] Why not bring your useless father to come and contest for governor, since you aren't satisfied with the infrastructures. |

collagiatepaper:Soludo is my dad nkọ? And don't dare insult him. .. Meanwhile, it's now very clear that you're not residing in Anambra State. But don't worry. Let me bring this discussion to your own very backyard in your own village. .. Just tell me the name of your town. And then tell me any capital project or infrastructure (apart from the crazy legacy projects) that was commissioned in your own town within Obiano’s second tenure. ... You have two hours, and your time starts now. You are free to phone a friend, or ask the audience. .. Just give me the name of your town, and any infrastructure project at-all that was completed and commissioned inside the town within the last four years. |

helinues:VISION 2020: Conceived by Obasanjo in 2006, but it was never developed until Yar’adua (with the the help of then Minister for Information - Dora Akunyili) developed the blueprint for it in 2009. In 2010, Dora resigned from being the Minister for information in order to run for the Senate (2011). After she failed in the senatorial elections, she still continued championing the vision 2020 project until she fall seriously sick in 2012 and 2013. She later died in 2014. |

BluntCrazeMan:I am very certain that those details won't be contained in the document. I am from Anambra, and I know these people very well. It is evident that it is an unworkable document. First, what are Anambra's comparative advantages? How have the administrations of the past aligned their programs, including the one that commissioned this document, with these comparative advantages? What is the composition of the Committee that produced this document, in terms of representation from every nook and cranny of the state? Was the document ratified in all the LGAs that constitute the state? Do they even understand the 'seriousness' of that document? If they did, it would not be used as a tool for a 'last minute show' by the outgoing administration. I do not need to read the document to know this. You didn't get my view on yearly budgets. My point is, if yearly budgets are well articulated, designed to meet prevailing human needs and wholesomely implemented; what is the need for a 50-year long development plan that successive administrations are unlikely to adhere to? |

CoolAmbience:So, impromptu but well executed yearly plans without a clear direction towards some long-term goals would be it?? And we want to be like saner climes?? .. Long term plans that underwent good feasibility studies and with detailed workable implementation methods can never be ignored by subsequent governments. |

BluntCrazeMan:Your moniker speaks of your person. Vision 2070 is unrealistic. It's just an excuse if nothing is achieved in 8 years. My question still remains, what if another party wins and doesn't key into the plan? What then happens? |

BluntCrazeMan:Are you an African? Is this the first of such document to be put together by a state in Nigeria? How far with Nigeria's Vision 20: 2020 Plan; Plateau State Development Plan 2019 - 2023; Borno State 25-year Development Farmwork etc. Abia state recently launched their own long term development plan. Are the absence of these plans the reason why Nigeria is still grossly developed? Is it responsible for the incurable, massive corruption? What sort of 'clear direction' does anyone need to fix bad roads, enhance the healthcare and education sectors, combat corruption, improve security, create industries and factories, grossly mechanize agriculture, expand transportation options, develop mining and solid minerals etc... No two leaders understand the priorities of their people in the same way. So, I think it makes no sense developing a development plan for leaders of several generations to come, especially in a world where global realities change everyday. For instance, what Soludo and his team that developed the development document, understands as the priorities of Ndi Anambra, are not what I or anyone understand as our collective priorities. |

mikezuruki:You don't deserve another response from me after this.. .. So, you think that the plan for the first 10 years would not be contained inside a detailed 50-year plan?? .. Well,, if another new governor (even from the same party) decided not to key into the plan,, we won't kill him. He would definitely finish his tenure. But then, going by the precedence already on ground and the implementation of the early stages of the 50-year plan, and with the testimony that things were heading in a good direction, then the people themselves would definitely frustrate any Governor who tries to deviate from the laid-down (already successful) long-term economic plan for the State. (Take Lagos State and Ambode for instance.) .. Well, unless the new Governor has a better plan, and that the new governor made such better plans publicly known for tough scrutiny, even before he starts to deliver anything about it. .... Unlike our current Obiano who never had prior plans. He was just delivering anything that comes impromptu inside his brain. (One could always doubt whether he even has good economic advisers) |
