NATO membership application was embedded into ukraine constitution in 2019. Just saying they have no interest wouldn't solve it. You have to understand the history behind the invasion. From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the Warsaw pact era to the ukrainian coup that removed the pro Russian government. Look at what happened in Kazakhstan recently you see how Putin immediately deployed Russian force to the country to quell the unrest.

Stop being foolish. Stopping Ukraine from joining NATO is one of the goals Russia seeks to achieve with the war. So the offensive will continue until Ukraine complies with all Putin's demands.

One of the conditions for joining the NATO is that no territory belonging to a potential member candidate should be under dispute, the war in crimea made good and sure that Ukraine will not be eligible to join NATO......

Putin supported rebellion in crimea to guarantee NATO membership failed.......
