Pls guys,I need advise on what herbicide to use on a maize farm,I planted maize on 10acres last season & used Atrazine,caterpillar force,14D amine,and nicosulforun......I’m planting on 36acres next month and feel the need to reduce d chemicals....pls I need some advise

You can't get what you need here like this. Get a consultant to visit your farm, to advise you appropriately.

My advice for glyphosate users be say, nor spray grass whe never receive rain for more than 1 or two weeks. No say the grass don already weak, make I finish am. Maybe you fit try am with contact herbicide. Glyphosate requires activily growing healthy weeds to work.

After your land preparation, thesame day you sow,(please spray within 24hrs) using altrazine and paraquat( mixed the 2 chemical). Thereafter you can glyphosphate herbicide to control the weeds till you harvest . please make sure your maize are in rows for easy spraying and walkway .

When is the best month to start planting

As soon as rain is well established( Mainly for the cob ) . Persons in some part of Delta State have planted already . The second phase of planting will be in August ( main target is the grains because the dry season favours that!)

Profitability depends on your target .Maize is a 2 season crop. For instance you targeting selling fresh maize ,so suppose to have planted now to follow the early flush of maize and make good sales .
But planting for the grains is more profitable .imagine having like 20 hundred kg bags of dry maize now .
