My brother just graduated and he came out with third class. Dad has been thinking of sending him abroad for his masters (Lincoln university California to be precise). A lot of research experience and high quality publications can come to your rescue if you have a third class. US schools requires more of potentials than grades. Alternatively, he can email the specific department stating his specific experience and class of degree to see if he can be considered. His experience and other factors can work in his favour.
