A young man landed in the hospital after he was reportedly attacked by a security personnel of the Nigerian Navy.

Family and friends are demanding justice after the victim identified as Dr. Owen Edo-Ojo, was reportedly beaten, stabbed and shot multiples times by the uniformed man.

The sad development was disclosed in a social media post by a friend of the victim who shared a photo of the victim on his hospital bed.

He said that if the injustice the victim suffered goes unpunished, then “it is a fact that Nigeria has completely failed its youth.

However, the Nigerian Navy released a statement confirming the incident, they stated that the officer involved is arrested and detained.

The Nigerian Navy assured that an investigation is lunched to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident, salemgists learnt.

I hardly heard this type of news from the navy. I was thinking Navy is one of the military that atleast is well disciplined, but no , I was wrong. Idiotic nonentities full there.

You see! In a sane clime that officer would be prosecuted and punished. But here they get away with such nonsense. And you would hear ordinary Nigerians praise these animals by saying things like: if a soldier handles you! If a naval man slaps you! If policeman handles you! What a society.

At the very best, the personnel is given a death sentence too.

…but what about the equivalence of life? The personnel death should not fill any gap created by his absence.

Let us stay away from this armed men, their lots are hungry and angry. Their brain is not optimal. Their mindset is shallow and ego driven. Their outlook is finding a pathetic avenue to expel their grievances.

In our interactions with them, no matter how provoking they are, let us be peace minded, de-escalation minded. Even if we feel insulted, we can seek remedy from the complex or institution itself, and shouldn’t seek or expect or demand such from the many we encounter.

If we see them approach, we should flee. We are not cowards for deciding not to endanger our lives.

Take the navy personnel’s salary/pension and give to the man to cater for his hospital bills. Expel him from the force and watch how other navy personnel would comport themselves in public!
