Wanted to make a contribution to a discourse a few days ago regarding refrigerators, but events overtook me.

Even the thermocool no dey too retain frost (i assume you mean ice).

I use two thermocool deep freezers (100l and 240l), and the much they can retain frost for is less than 24hours. Really don't know if that is long enough
though. But the good thing is, they are "light-weight"/inverter-friendly (even though they are not originally inverter referigerators). I use the 100l on my 1600w inverter and it carries it well. So I am sure there is constant light to keep it frozen. While I use the 240l on gen and nepa.

For me, times are changing. People should be more focused on the energy-efficiency of a refrigerator and how easily it can be powered by inverters, because as long as you are in Nigeria, Nepa will definitely fall your hand much longer than your refrigerator can retain frost. And it can be hard to find a refrigerator that retain frosts for several days and is energy-efficient. So, if your refrigerator is energy-efficient, you can be sure your inverter will always power it for as long as you like.

Regarding the emboldened; First of all, you should understand that, whether Nigerians like it or not, technology is tending towards energy-efficiency and massive reduction of energy consumption. Reduction tops the list of waste management. Newer referigerators use this model, and, sadly, it hardly supports longer frost hours for referigerators. That is why most inverter referigerators freeze very fast, but don't retain it for too long.

Also, like I said earlier, even if your refrigerator can retain frost for 1week, there will be a period that PHCN will not provide light for 2weeks. Woe betides you if you do not have means of alternative power like gen or inverter.

The freezer stays frozen for more than 48hrs without power . Something even on the 3rd without using it on gen it is still chilling. Thercool try for the fridge
These non frost technology is not really for us o. We need that extra layer of ice to keep our things chilled during power outage .

Here is what i think, even tho the world is tending towards low energy efficiency i think ... specification in accordance to country standard should be one major consideration when buying anything.
There are many good car products in the market buh nigeria prefer toyota cos the design suite nigeria/nigerians. Putting all factors into consideration what a nigerian customer needs is a fridge that frozes for long in absence power supply, low energy is secondary utility/bonus. however i get you sha, koko is money

From my personal use and experience, thermo cool is number one and if you must enjoy it then you need a stabilizer.
mine could go 36hrs if i don't open much, and i think 24hrs is not bad for a deep freezer, if you av bin using it for long check the gas might need top-up.
As much as lightweight/inverter sounds great, is inverter pocket friendly, if we put affordability, durability, sustainances and maintainance into consideration is it really worth the recommendation besides most nigerians are comfortable with what they understand, inverter wahala if e start no be here

I remembered when i bought my deep freezer MIDEA, i was skeptical about it because i went for thermo cool (believing to be the best) but the dealer boy boy called me aside and said "no waste your money, buy that MIDEA, you will pray for me later" he said people love buying well known name products without them knowing that they are many unpopular products that are far better
To short the story, i bought the MIDEA and believe me, i have never regretted it for once since 2018 and still counting
You can ask around from people who have used MIDEA products, especially the deep freezer.
