Two ISWAP fighters have reportedly surrendered to the Nigerian Military after finding it difficult to return to their Lake Chad Base as they lost their way during the journey. In a series of tweets by Zagazola, a counter insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, the two underage ISWAP fighters reportedly lost their way after deserting the war front during an encounter with Boko Haram insurgents in Yarimarigana village, Sambisa Forest area of Borno State. According to him, ISWAP fighters were on a mission to battle with one Buduma led Boko Haram Faction around the Mandara Mountain axis in Borno State. However, due to the heavy fighting between the two groups, these two ISWAP fighters, fearing for their lives, took to their heels and fled the battlefield.
