subsidywise18:Water or Ocean no be criteria to join NATO, NATO is just a name.. many NATO countries are not even close to any water.. The funny irony about Ukraine being the poorest country in Europe is the fact that the poorest country in Europe is outsmarting and beating Russia, a so called superpower, although not and never a superpower in my book.. |

sweetjohn:Can you now see why I don't argue with fools? They'll just drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience. We needn't go through the anals of history to see where terrorism started. My wife is a Christian. My son practices my religion. My daughter goes to church (All still under me). Swear by whatever you think you believe in that you are that tolerant, then we can start talking about religeous extremism. And from there to terrorism. And I'll give you countless examples that'll shock you, cos you don't even research well. How many US presidents do you think is religeous of late? Go and sleep, you'll soon wake up from that illusion you've been brainwashed to believe one day. |

plaindealer:That's true. But at the end, NATO's expansion eastward has always sounded strange to me.( even if you take Russian fears out of the equation). Still doesn't give Russia the right to bomb and attack Ukraine though. Plus, I know why Ukraine is joining up...coming under US defence umbrella frees one to spend more money on other things apart from defence. Germany and Japan in particular know that lesson well. |

subsidywise18:I can't help but fall in love with your submission. I used to think like you before but the truth is all countries are not equal. This is what the world has taught me. Technological advancement and economic prowess elevates your status, and sometimes to a power called superpower. Comparing Cameroun not joining ECOWAS is not how you will judge Ukraine joining NATO. ECOWAS's objectives are mainly infrastructural schemes, trade, economic, monetary and industrial policies. NATO on the other hand is a military organisation. NATO is a genuine threat to Russia's existence. You also have to realise that NATO was actually formed because of former U.S.S.R (Let's call it Russia of today). A NATO military formation right on Russia's doorstep will just never happen. The invasion of Iraq and Afganistan etc. by U.S.A and co. is so bad because these countries do not share borders with U.S.A, unlike Russia and Ukraine which is more understandable. The common denominator in invading Afghanistan and co., along with Libya is one thing: oil. Mainly for greed do these western powers invade powerless nations (or nations on the rise). To subjugate and control. Thus the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, side by side with that of the U.S, is simply apples and oranges. I do attest that underground politics are definitely at play, as Ukraine also has proven oil reserves and Russia may have other side agenda... but the dominion of the Soviet is non-negotiable. They won't stop until Ukraine surrenders, that I can assure you. One question for you: You live in a boys' quarters and your neighbour lives in front of you. Both of you have your rights as tenants. After some time, your neighbour begins bringing cultists to his flat (not your flat). Would you leave your own flat and go to his (invade) and warn him never to try such as it puts your life and freedom in danger, or will you stay back in your flat (and respect that he "has the right to do and associate with whom it wants" ) |

subsidywise18:Being close to the Atlantic or near any body of water is not a criterion for joining NATO, NATO is just a name. A lot of NATO countries in Europe are not anywhere near the Atlantic or any ocean, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Poland are not anywhere close to the Atlantic or any Ocean. Ukraine is a sovereign Nation and it has all the rights under the sun to make its own decisions, to join any association and alliances regardless of Russia's feelings or insecurity. |
| Re: In Retaliatory Sanctions, Russia Imposes Ban On Boris Johnson, Others by plaindealer: 12:09am On Apr 17, 2022 |
JooEeL:Fortunately for Ukraine, it's not a cultist country and its foreign friends and supporters are not cultists, these are issues between credible sovereign Nations, not cultists and ritualists. Belarus is supporting Russia, they are a major Russian ally and bombs run into Ukraine came from inside Belarus, troops that took part in the invasion entered Ukrain through Belarus so let's stop playing blind or pretend, just like other countries helping Ukraine, Belarus and Putin's friends in the region are helping him too. it is ridiculous to suggest that NATO should be disbanded because it was created during the USSR era, number 1, Putin or any country can not dictate to other countries and associations how to run their business or command them to disband, number 2, the reason why it was created is still very much around because there are lunatics, brutal tyrants and megalomaniacs like Putin. We need a strong and powerful alliance to always check clowns and menaces like Putin brandishing and threatening to unleash Nuclear weapons every second of the day. Just imagine a world without NATO, I see the whole of Europe under Russian invasion. |
| Re: In Retaliatory Sanctions, Russia Imposes Ban On Boris Johnson, Others by JooEeL(m): 12:58am On Apr 17, 2022 |
plaindealer:1. It should not be disbanded. It should refrain from coming to Russia's doorsteps. If U.S.A never allowed Russia-Cuba partnership during the Cuba Missile Crisis (in 1962), then Russia wins the argument to disallow anything NATO on its doorsteps. What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. 2. The West is the clown, not Putin. 3. The whole of Africa was invaded by Europe. Nigeria was invaded by Britain. The independence you got is mere flag independence. You are a colony. Before thinking of Europe suffering Russian invasion, have you yourself broken free from Britain colony shackles, or are you the type of slave who because the chains in his legs have been removed thinks he's free, yet walks about in a cage? Think twice. |
