Of course, why I said $, because that's the international légal tender and should be a basis.

Let me ask you: how do you feel when you are paid in Naira and a colleague of yours is paid in USD?

If you pay Software Engineer NGN350,000 and a foreign company pays him $2,000, is it not the same tool he is using for both jobs?

We need to fight the value system. Fact is people are underpaid in Nigeria.

Your education is very poor.

How?

He stated the obvious fact.

If you're offering any professional service in Nigeria, you'll sure know you're underpaid if you do a comparison with what's obtained in developed countries.

That is low education mentality.

Even those in the UK, Ireland or Spain are paid less than those in the USA or Switzerland. Are they then "underpaid" too?

Are footballers in Poland underpaid because EPL guys make their annual wages in one month?

Payment/Salaries/Wages is dependent on your skills you have, local cost of living, competition for your job/role and the revenues your payer generates.

Lets imagine Twitter generates annual revenues of $300K in Nigeria but generates $400m in the US, you expect the Business Development Manager in Nigeria to earn $200K because his American counterparts earn that on average and they are using the same tool for both jobs?

He really isnt doing that well if he is in Lagos.
16years of experience should be bagging nothing less than 1.5 to 2M with the current realities in Nigeria and inflation trends.

I have got offers that would pay slightly higher than that and years of experience is below a decade.

That's why i believe lots of people should start talking about their salaries. All these keeping secrets about what you earn only benefits employers.

For the bolded, your head correct!

1) Read more on topics and issues on the internet.

2) Read from reliable sources, not junk sites.

3) Read widely and look at solid for and against arguments.

The internet is a more useful tool than most Nigerian education nowadays and majority of the knowledge on it is free. All you need to do is buy data.

Unfortunately, many Nigerian "yoots" prefer to use the data to learn EPL scores and about BBN.

I totally got the point you're making.

Coming back to Nigeria now and leaving out comparison with developed countries, the pay for services rendered here is not always commensurate with the work input — I'm talking about professional services here.

Many clients have this mentality that they can overwork you all because of the money they want to pay you, whereas, and in most cases, the work input to complete the job is much compared to the pay.

I don't know, but this is just an anomaly inherent in Nigeria especially if you're offering a professional service.

Nope. Anyone with resilence, sheer determination can do it.

Start with the fundamentals.

I get you completely about the challenge for professional services and client pricing down. Yes, I know clients price down fees to peanuts and then take a long time paying the peanuts after being invoiced.

This is where you blame the useless leaders and their supporters in Nigeria.

Let me tell you why you should blame them:

1) When the economy is bad and there are few companies a professional services firm can target, then the few companies have power to price the professional services firms down.

2) When the investment capital is focused in the hands of crooks, and many companies don't need to operate professionally to be competitive (as they can operate using bribes and networks), then their need for professional services to help them be professional is low.

Like I said from Ground Zero (0).

ITF+ (A+ is also CompTIA's advanced type for IT Fundamentals albeit more focus on computer components especially on the hardware side of things) - (CompTIA and ISACA have certifications for this level, albeit ISACA is expensive compared to CompTIA).

Network+ (or Networking skills) and Security+ (for securing networks and infrastructure) are advanced levels offered by CompTIA.

ISACA groups its own as ITCA - Information Technology Certified Associate.

These certifications can be gotten from multiple CB (Certification Bodies), but you can start with learning about these courses by registering with Udemy, Alison et al to learn them very well before sitting for the exams.

I was working then, and secondly, I never wanted to have 4, at the third one we decide to stop because it was all boys, my wife needed a girl, so we tried the last one which still a boy too, but if u look at their ages, like my first son gave my second son 5 year, my second gave my 3 son 5 years, then my 3 son gave my last son 6 good years, but is well

Still not a good excuse.

In this day and age, even in well-off and developed nations, 2 kids is what people go for. Talk less of a shithole like Nigeria.

If people in USA, UK, Germany etc. are having only 2 kids because they think, despite all their high income and stable employment, that that number of children is the amount they can provide the best for with their large incomes plus generous government support, why will someone in a shithole where jobs are unstable, incomes are low and government is determine to frustrate your life be having 4 kids "because my wife needed a girl"?

Needed?

For what?

A 3rd child might be a reasonably acceptable mistake, but a 4th is just irresponsibility and foundation for indirect child abuse except one is making over N3m per month in Nigeria and living modestly on the Mainland.

If one is living on the Island, I would raise it to N5m. It would be N1.5m per month for someone not staying in Lagos, Abuja or PH.

I suspect you were not even making up to N600K per month when you were working, why have 4 and put such burden on yourself?

Now you are sharing peanuts across the mouth of 4 kids that would have been slightly more to share if it was just 2 kids. Education would be low quality and poor for your kids because you cannot afford it. God forbid they are sick and you need quality healthcare. Your children will be hustling when they grow up to fund their needs.

Giving them a poor start in life! You are lucky they are all boys, if your wife had her wish fulfilled, that is how young girls turn to Olosho when parents can not cater for them.

The excuses you gave do not carry weight! Having more than 3 kids, at worst, in Nigeria is an irresponsible and backward mentality. Something that is prevalent in the North of Nigeria. We can see the eventual result with their Almajiris, Okada/Keke Napep drivers, Boko Harams and Bandits.
