With Brambus, he engages the everyday artisans/tradespeople and parades himself as the resident engineer which he doesn't have any requisite training or qualification. This is quackery and sophistry. This is a crime of false representation.

In this situation where the interpretation of the structural drawings is done by a pretender, it can't be certain the building will be structurally sound in whole or in part over time like you observed with terraces. This is endangering lives by experimentation through internet searches and research.

People should not be parading themselves in professions they are not qualified for. It is dangerous. People should not be giving "second chances" to unrepentant pretenders. Only God in their infinite mercies can do this. Unless they think they are God.

Let me share this too.

I was invited to profer a solution to an ongoing build by the contractor.

The building was at the ground floor stage when the client requested that the living room be made bigger. During the alteration/modification of the drawing, a wall with a column was eliminated. They never got back to the structural engineer to redesign. When the formwork for the first floor was done, the site engineer who is a friend and a builder felt uncomfortable with the layout so he invited me to his site..

That building has two and half floors ( pent) and a supporting column in the middle of the building was removed. What a risky thing to do. It was a disaster waiting to happen.

We had to remove some formworks, break wall and introduce a new column elsewhere and also increase the rebars and size of the cantilever beam, to achieve what the client wants.

We need to be structurally alert while trying to satisfy our clients. Also a structural element has it's purpose , don't assume aesthetic is all that matters.

Get a second opinion if you think it's not right..

By the way, I just received quotation from Electrician and Plumber. Find attached. What do you guys think. I think it's high o, especially labour (each of them - 150k). Your inputs will be very helpful abeg. This is just for Piping.

Smiles. I guess an everyday artisan/tradespeople prepared this drawing or probably recommended and conducted a NDT test just because we are going to add 1 supplemental column. Maybe I probably have to let you in all that’s happening behind the scene.

On getting to the Nonuplets by NextHome, when we were handed the construction drawings, we noticed the structural guys has deliberately excluded some pages from the drawings.

Not only that, he expected us to mirror some drawings to work on similar designs that are adjacent.

I smiled and told the client “Based on the peculiarity of this project and site requirement, we will require 9 different drawings.”

So I beaconed to my structural guy [s](the one you called everyday artisan/tradespeople)[/s] to the site for onsite assessment and within the 6 weeks spent on the project, we delivered 6 new structural designs and 5 of the foundations were delivered and 4 raised to slab level within 5 weeks.

It won’t cost me anything to share the drawings we were presented and the 6 new structural drawings we delivered for you and your pros to see.

The structural engineer was physically on site for more than 3 weeks in Ìbàdàn. I’m sure someone who can produce 6 new structural drawings in less than 2 weeks is an everyday artisan in your bible.

Please modify the statement; 'unrepentant pretenders'. It should be 'unrepentant pretenders and serial thieves'.

Also, the word 'unrepentant' can be eliminated because I don't think anyone on this thread is/was expecting the serial thief to repent.

Those are outdoor porcelain tiles.

It’s not new but it’s finding its way back into our builds these days as a much more reliable and better alternative to the known and outdated flooring solutions. But the one in the image you shared is trendy especially with wood effect porcelain tiles + marble white porcelain tiles combo.

We had these installed in one of my build at Ajao Estate in 2012. The client shipped in all his tiles and they were used for the external floors.

1) low quality work
2) the break in is aided by artisans, possibly same artisans who built the place

We had a home invasion sometime in 1998 or so. This was when I was still living with my folks. We were alerted to the thieves and were shouting ole ole. This had always worked before (ilorin) once thieves see you are alerted, they run.

Not this time. They broke through the burglar proofing like it was Swiss cheese. I remeber being so shocked at the time as good money had been paid for it.

After the incident the same fucking ediat who had built the house came and started saying we should have used a different type of burglar proofing. Useless fking bastard.
