Raising a Child is the most difficult thing, especially in Nigeria at the moment. Most Children are exposed to TV Programmes rated 18+ at very tender Age.

I visited a Friend some few Days ago, and I saw his 3yrs old Son rolling on the Floor, held a Spoon like a Gun and using his Mouth to make sound.

I switched the Channel to Hip TV and the Boy starts dancing to the Musics. I drew him closer and asked him... what is your Name? He responded.... fine.

I agree with u , the adults failed the kids as well as the society..i think the school should take the blame for trying to sweep it under the carpet. There has to be a deeper purpose of opening schools rather than making money. How many of these schools are properly supervised by the government?

I honestly do not know what a a child that’s not 16 is supposed to do with a smart phone that is internet enabled. They will probably open social media accounts , follow current trends and see some of the stuff they are not yet matured enough to handle.

I remember during the lockdown in 2020 some of the celebrities on IG like Slimcase, Baddy Osha etc were hosting regular live shows in which ladies would call in and masturbat.e and perform other sexual acts on live video and they get some viewers/ celebrities promising them money depending on their performance.

A curious teenager with an internet enabled smart phone out of curiosity will join these live shows as a viewer , learn as much stuff as he/she can learn and then plan to practise anytime an opportunity presents itself.

Parents need to control the contents their wards consume as much as they can cos their curious mind will always push them to put some of those things into practise.

The mother claiming her daughter was raped seem to be living in a fools paradise. Her daughter has obviously been influenced by the contents she consumed and the peer pressure from other kids like her who lack proper parental monitoring. The school sure needs some explanations to do about negligence on their part, the parents also have serious questions to answer.

Most Nigerians blaming the school totally are only doing so because of a separate incident in which a teacher raped a student and it was alleged they tried covering it up.

Very good point...All boils down to poor parenting, I remember a long time ago when I entered one taxi with a woman in it... because of the sharp way I was dressed, she assumed I was into Yahoo and started telling me how she bought the phone her eldest son used to go into internet fraud and now he has bought her a car, and that I should continue with what I was doing that my mum will bless me for it....I was so astounded i just nodded my head...This funniest part of this thing is that this is not an isolated case, so many of our parents today are like this, so tell me what you want to pass on to your children...

My own that's concerning is the use of rape about something that's obviously consensual. Both are minors, yet they used the strong word as rape in narrating the issue.

Nowadays when u see how some parents act, u can't but wonder if these parents themselves had parents that trained them. I mean we all knew how strict our parents were and were closely monitored; how we had to explain source of ever penny we spent. Nowadays its no big deal again.
