A petrol-laden tanker has exploded at Ajegunle Bus-Stop, around Alagbado, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, IGBERETV reports.

The explosion happened at about 3am on Friday, April 22, 2022.

Residents say the explosion woke them from their sleep, burning houses and shops.

Emergency officials, including firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service, arrived at the scene to put out the fire.

At least one person died in the accident. A video from the scene shows a black bag containing the body of the deceased.

Sad.

Good that dignity is given to the deceased by the using of body bags. I give kudos to Lagos for that. This is unlike the police where they stack dead bodies (both naked and clothed) at the back of their vans without the use of body bags.

Effect of bad road. The road on that Ajegunle to Toll gate stretch is awful to say the least. RIP to the dead and may our leaders reap what they sow in full .
