The public fight among transport unions in Lagos State resumed today.

DAILY POST gathered that gunshots were heard Friday morning at Meiran – Ijaiye axis and Ekoro road in the Abule-Egba area.

The battle involves the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN).

The rivals are loyalists of suspended Lagos NURTW Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a. MC Oluomo, and Istijaba.

Real name Azeez Abiola, Istijaba is the State Chairman of TOOAN.

The leaders have been at loggerheads in recent years over personal and union issues.

The matter has now degenerated with the open use of charms, guns, machetes and other weapons.

The Lagos State Police Command has deployed operatives to the scene and assured residents of safety.

Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin said clashes are no longer ongoing at Ekoro Road and Oke-Odo.

”Men of nearby divisions and the RRS are fully on ground, and the areas are absolutely calm”, the spokesman tweeted.

Last week, rival unionists clashed between Fagba and Abule Egba. Lagos regularly witnesses such clashes despite the government’s vow to forestall reoccurrences

It feels so good to be the FTC after a long break. I want to use this opportunity to wish everybody a swell weekend ahead.

Back to the topic, it’s just a pity how much decay we have done to the city, a thug is even more influential that a military personnel. I hope this matter is handled properly by the state before it degenerates to something beyond repair which I doubt cus of association of M.C oluomo association with the Lagos number1 citizen.

The real masters of Yoruba land in action, agberocracy in action. Government of agberos, by agberos and for agberos. The supposedly educated ones among them will soon come out to use their "sophistication" to defend this madness

When I predicted this few weeks ago , Some online touts with little or no foresight couldn't see the danger Sanwoolu and his pay masters were courting by the singular act of legitimizing the criminal activities of Mc Oluomo, see it happening before our very own eyes now

BlueRayDick:
Lagos state government has covertly shown it's support for MC Oluomo's camp and by this terse press release has further shown he will.most likely be in charge of collecting tolls and fees on their behalf going forward.

This will however not end well for them and MC oluomo, rather it will lead to serious breakdown of law and order in the state.

There's no way the camps of Kunle Poly, Tafa Sego and the rest in opposition camps will allow MC boys collect fees and tolls in their territory. Places like Lagos island will witness more clashes because that is practically what those boys live on in those areas. You might think security operatives backed by the government will clamp down on them, but trust me Lagos is not that we'll policed to deal any serious blow to these guys. The security operatives will practically be overwhelmed.

We've witnessed clashes amongst this group and we've seen how they wield dangerous weapons in a bid to defend their territories in the past. I hope Sanwoolu is not towing a path that will make federal government declare state of emergencies in Lagos if things go our of hand with these demons they've enabled over time.

Stop deceiving yourself abeg, the only reason the drug abuse in the east is trending is because it is relatively new in the region and they are fighting it seriously. Every official research data shows that the south east is the least when it comes to drug abuse while Yoruba land are the champions. Which evidence are you talking about? Bring that your official evidence let me see.

Here is evidence for you.
