Not at all bro. We don't pay attention to Balon d'Or then. You leave that to scrubs like Owen, Nedved and Shevchenko while Ronaldo, Zidane, Ronaldinho win the WPOTY. Speaking from first hand experience not dem say dem say. Balon d'Or is the one we did not take seriously. I guess maybe FIFA did not want two awards and acquiesced to merging with the junior award as big brother, or maybe they liked the name, or their voting mechanism was more democratic than FIFAs, I'm just speculating. All I know is it happened at the wrongest time (social media age) and the whole world now associates Balon d'Or as the legitimate award. That was certainly not the case before the merger. FIFA WPOTY was the big dog before the merger. Even World Soccer Magazine WPOTY was almost trying to compete with Balon d'Or in the late 90s before they died out TBH.
