Norwich City have been relegated from the Premier League after Dean Smith's side were defeated at his former club Aston Villa.

The Canaries' 2-0 loss, courtesy of goals from Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings, was their 23rd defeat of the season and condemns them to life the second tier after Burnley fought back from a goal down to beat Watford 2-1 at Vicarage Road.

Norwich were comfortably second best at Villa - Smith's boyhood club - with the performance indicative of their inability to create clear-cut chances and apply sustained pressure.

It's the fourth time in eight seasons that Norwich have gone down, with their current points haul currently on a par with the amount they registered during the 2019/20 season.

Watford is next because I don’t see how they can survive relegation with their kindergarten performance

They’ll be back. Championship is a rubbish competition. Most times, one of the teams that are newly promoted don't stay more than a season in the PL before going back to the Championship. Next season this Norwich may dominate the 2nd division again. Just as either Fulham or Bournemouth may be relegated next season.

Norwich has had more 2nd division titles than staying afloat in the EPL.

Everton to follow. Imagine such a club dragging Liverpool in the mud by claiming unnecessary penalty.

Let them go back to where they belong, i.e CHAMPIONSHIP! EPL is too hot for their survival. I just hope Lampard won't take Everton to same address because it's looking likely that surviving is a big deal for now...
