A lot Nigerians have no business buying cars. They buy cars they can't afford and can't maintain. You will be surprised to see the kind of faults some vehicles have and people are not afraid to put them on the road.

Hardly will you find anyone who buys brand new original tires, it's Tokunbo all the way. These tires were removed from the original vehicle for a reason. I get that some of them come from accidented vehicles but what's the percentage? 80% are garbage.

I concede that some are also down to reckless driving or DUI but majority in my opinion are mechanical/tire failures

I don't know if you watch F1 but there have been few occasions were the driver had to adapt with maybe a bad part or engine, even pilots can land a plane with a single engine, mechanical failures are significant but if you look at the issue broadly, you will see human error everywhere, from road design and management, all the way to driving habits

When I see articles like this, I wonder the common variable, people often accuse people that speed of causing accidents, I drive with speed alot and I have only had 1 major incident and it wasn't even my fault, but everyone that knows me assumes that it was mine despite my explanations simply because I drive with speed

I usually wonder the appropriate speed or method, cause it's not news that traffic lights and speed guidelines aka speed limits are bullshit

Did some research found a few suggestions but none worked, some even aided fuel conservation, but none worked for me

I think its a personal thing, depending on how much information your mind can process, F1 drivers aren't aliens, they just have better situational awareness, and can easily make micro sec decisions better than the next person, if you can graft out plots and paths on the road, factoring all the variables, you can drive fast as you can handle and you will rearly have issues, if not, be the old man on the road and save yourself the heartache

Also some men enjoy, and I shamefully do, engaging in races with other drivers on the highway, particularly when it comes to overtaking, if you know that you don't have the ability, allow the person go, trying to prove yourself to someone you don't know for absolutely no reason but testosterone trips is not worth your life

There is no shame in driving slow, it's better than killing a human being, so many accidents suffer from the same flaw, poor reasoning.

Speed kills but slow driving also causes a lot of non-fatal accidents. The amount of times I've nearly bumped into the back of someone because they are driving too slow and I took my eye off the road. Worst is those guys that brake at Yellow traffic lights while I'm trying to accelerate through it, nearly bashing them in the back. Slow drivers should be banned from the roads too.

You see ehn , all these formula-1-esque driving u are advocating will only end in tears in places like Lagos where anything can happen on the road. In Lagos u see commercial vehicles whose pointer nor brake light works , they stop abruptly and some even make turns unexpectedly. Imagine u the F1 coming behind them in ur usual high speed driving , that fast reasoning u claim to possess will surely flee from u in that instant.

Why do u think Dagrin is no longer with us ? Niggga rammed into a broken down truck with no sign to show it was parked on the road . Some will say he was under the influence coming from the club , but we know drunk or not if he was not on high speed he would’ve seen the parked truck early enough to avoid ramming into it.
