For proper context, Obasanjo was never the South West's preferred candidate. Others voted against the South West's candidate. Just fyi so we don't muddle up history.

eldoradoxx:
The West has been a problem to the rest of the South. They are the reason North has no regard for the South anymore. In 1999, it was the same East and South South that formed the majority voting bloc that delivered an Obasanjo Presidency while his kit and kind refused to vote their own
How much did the Yorubas sow I. PDP to have produced a two term President. South East also constituted the majority voting bloc for Jonathan a South Southerner all in a bid to enthrone a fellow Southern and in the spirit of Southern brotherhood. It is the same West that resisted Jonathan vehemently for no reason. The table has turned and you see how the other South is treating the East that stood by them in the past, people are just ungrateful. With the way it is going, I see the entire South becoming political slaves to the North. Let a Northerner clinch the ticket in PDP and the West the biggest political amarda of defection by the North to PDP. Then let God punish them and let the drug addict clinch APC ticket and let them watch the East and South South vote the Northern candidate, for we rather go with the North than vote a disastrous drug addict the Yorubas are bandying around as a presidential material.

Don't mind selfish yolobas.

It's bc of their insensitivity and greed that both apc and PDP are considering giving tickets to North again.

When it was resolved in 1999 to pacify yolobas bc of MKO, both AD and PDP gave their tickets to yolobas.

Even when they tried giving a Northerner a ticket against their Son Obj in 2003 in a bid to entrench ACN, it was this same SS and SE that voted overwhelmingly for a yoloba Obj to retain power for second tenure.

Coming to GEJ, in their usual greed, they connived with power hungry north to deny him second tenure and give it to North with the hope that North will reciprocate. Today, North is planning to retain the power after out smarting them.

SW is d prodigal son of Southern Nigeria. always ready to stab SS and SE at d back to have their way.

I will rather vote a fulani than any yoloba, since I have observed their scheming.

They shout, power return to South, but does not want equity in the south. Nonsense!

What do you mean by SW candidate? Was it SW election or Nigerian election?

The point is that for fairness, power was zoned to SW. Anyway it goes a SW president was to emerge.

Why are you guys now objecting to such arrangement? Why not vote igbo candidate in apc for fairness?

Exactly my perspective too. Nairaland promotes tribalism in this country, watch how any post that has tribal tone gets to the Frontpage with willing trabal warlords getting ready to pounce and promote their tribal agenda further. I have always said it, if Nairaland does not kill trabalism then tribalism will kill Nairaland.

I'm not from the East but I have been privilege to stay there for years, neither am I from the West but schooled there for 6years..... But I must say, the hypocritical, betrayal and cunning nature of the average Yoruba Man is very alarming...... Their lifestyle is " If the good is not coming to me, it must not go to my neighbor" and they are ready to fight even God to prevent it from happening to the next person......
You people should change, every other tribe has seen you for who you are..... HYPOCRITES.....

In no distant time... Yorubas will be totally excluded from Nigeria politics. Let them enjoy now while it last...

Lol. That must beIN your dream. Yoruba can never be excluded from Nigerian politics because they have everything working for them. First, they hold the economic power in Nigeria. All major companies are situated in the SW.

Secondly, talk about population, media, technology, education etc. They are all situated in the SW. As long as Nigeria exists, Yoruba have all it takes to determine what it wants.

This is a very stupid assessment driven by greed and sentiments. Our people and the north has benefitted more in the leadership of this country since 1999 both as vice and president than the south south and south east. We all know that the south east has been marginalised. They deserve to lead this country as president in as much as zoning is practised. Now that it's supposed to be theirs, all others want to claim it from them (a big show of hatred, not fear). If they want to leave the country, you still won't let them go, then why the hell are we treating them like slaves? Hope we all know the kind of beings we're creating by these attitudes. Whether we like it or not, if this continues, the nation will divide one day in the future probably in the hands of the next two generations (two decades). Let's change, people.

1999 zoning was based on 1993 annulled election, off of brutal years of military rule with their opposition mainly from the SW axis. What is the basis to fight for APC ticket by the SE? I'm eager to know.

*Also, please note that Alex Ekwueme and others contested PDP ticket with Olusegun Obasanjo. Olu Falae and Bola Ige's AD had to form an alliance with the All People's Party. Now tell me what the SE has done to deserve a blanket zoning of party ticket to them, especially the APC?
I'm waiting.

I can't even figure out their concern with apc primaries. I think even if apc presents a dog as its presidential candidate, it shouldn't be their business.

Igbo.s first choice is not to be a useless president of nigeria , a self serving post that do not not benefit no body not even tribe .

If truly you're sophisticated as you claim all times help give the igbos Biafra (but knowing you, you come with who is holding them ? You are ,two face yoruba,s are)

Been a Nigeria president is no blessing to tribes men other wise why now again after Obasanjo 8 years
Of total neglect of south west .

Dumb post..

Was Obasanjo given presidency on a platter? Was he given presidency on a turn by turn basis? No! Tell your ebow ancestors to work for it to earn it.

No need for long talks

I just laughed because I did not read the post. However, if the South west refused to let the south east take a slot at the presidency because of their selfish attitude, don’t you think that it is a window for the North to hold on to power perpetually. If people of the south east decide to form alliance with the north, we will be at their mercy because of the attitude of the west
