ASUU allegedly writes UNIJOS demanding the withdrawal of education minister's certificate

The Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has accused the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) of allegedly directing the management of the University of Jos, to withdraw his doctorate degree.

The Minister made the disclosure during a recent interview.

According to Nwajiuba, he was informed by UNIJOS that they had been instructed by ASUU to investigate his doctorate certificate and withdraw it after the probe. The minister noted that he wasn't sure of ASUU's intention but was certain the union was willing to go any length to prove a point.

Recall that the minister of labor and employment, Chris Ngige had also accused ASUU of resorting to blackmail and bullying some ministers just to have their way.

Hmmm,... One thing I know someone like me will do if given the authority is to tear that stupid 2009 agreement with ASUU that they are now using to hold the nation to ransom.

The next thing I will do is not to ever have any meeting with them because FG employed each lecturer individually, they have a right to association in whatever form, so they have a right to join ASUU, Scripture Union, etc but that should be private to them.

Thirdly, hence forth any grievance they have will now be channeled through the governing council, since that is actually the statutory body that government has set in place to deal with matters relating to the universities. This mistake was made by IBB I think that allowed them to be bypassing the governing council direct to FG is what is giving them the power to keep children at home and still get paid for it.

EVERY ONE HAS RIGHT TO INVESTIGATE AND REPORT TO THE AUTHORITIES SUSPECTED FRAUDS AND INSECURITIES.
