Amidst other solutions I have to offer, I will offer this lasting one.

Install a new fresh window (you can install without losing any of your files), this is done without formatting the disk.

Can't be cmos since that saves PC setting. Something on your harddisk is responsible. Start of with smadav as someone earlier recommended

Good Evening.
Whenever I save any file on my system, be it in the “Documents Folder”, or on the “Desktop” space, or even if I create a new folder directly inside the “Local Disk - C” Drive space and save the file there, [b]once I put the system off and put it on again, everything I saved on the system would just be wiped off, and I won't see them again..

You can try to create a new user and move your workload there. If it’s windows, simply setup a new user either from control panel under user accounts/ create new user, but for newer windows you can go under settings/user/ add user. If that doesn’t work, you can try Cmd, press your windows button, search ‘cmd’ short for command prompt, right click, select run as administrator, you should get a prompt to do this, press yes and you should see cli interface, from there you can use the net user command to add a new user. Do this by pressing “net user /add [username] [password]” without the quotes obviously. The username and password in brackets, you should input your desired username, desired password if you wish. Then after doing that, you can add the user as administrator by pressing ‘net localgroup administrators [username] /add’ without the quotes as well. The username in bracket will also be the username you just added. When done restart your computer and select the new user. It may take a few minutes and you should be all setup… copy a file into your desktop while logged in to your new user account and restart your laptop to test if your files are retained or not… if not, you may need to do a reinstall of your o.s. And if this is for a different operating system, the following steps may not work or be available.

Your system is infected and you have to format and reload a new copy of Windows in it

If that isn't the case then your hard drive may be face its end and restores back to previous restore points. It may require a change.

I am in computer village and if you are in Lagos, I can offer you a free service in the shop.... Choice is yours

Oga is a virus, and you not having antivirus on the system makes it even more believable.

Forget about scanning and using recovering option, the best is to install a fresh window.

If there is any file you don't want to lose during installation of the fresh window, do it without formatting the disk.

But it will make sense if you do a complete formatting as virus can still hide among those files you are keeping.

Change the CMOS battery

CMOS battery is for system settings like system time etc.

It should have no effect on what is saved on hard drive.

(Although, any files that I deleted by myself before I put the system off would still be there in the recycle bin).

..

NOTE: I don't have the Deep-Freeze Software on my system.
..
..
I also discovered something else...
..
When I clicked on the “Users” folder inside the LOCAL DISK Folder, I discovered that a new temporary “User” folder is always created for me whenever I sign-in, and that the current temporary “user” folder, which stands for the user that is currently signed-in, is the only folder that contains readable items... All other earlier numerous temporary “user” folders, which represented all those times that I logged in earlier (which had wiped out), all contained encrypted files which cannot be opened by any app or software, and they are saved in hidden folders inside those earlier temporary “user” folders.

..
Please, is there any way I can correct this anomaly??

take a note of your hard disk capacity by saving large files in a folder, turn off the system and see if the hard disk space is the same then the files might be hidden. you may want to enable "Show hidden files"

or a bug might be changing the directory they are stored... you may want to search your computer. hopefully you enabled system index.

Most casued by an update problem.

Check your update settings, uninstall recent updates, you can also try the system restore point.

1. Could be problem with RAM
RAM is a temporary storage device, when working wit ur system, every active file or doc are save or RAM, when turn off, it saved on hard disk, so if it goes bad, it bcm a prob
2. BAD HARD DISK. Which needs replacement
3. Virus this require formatting

It is definitely not ram, ram has no business storing files... It's job is just to hold up data being worked on by the processor, once processing is done, storage is handed over to the Hard drive once saved

The system is infected by a ransomeware and the hard disk encrypted - Nothing can be written or rewritten on it, but instead saved temporarily on memory.

This is why a restart clears the memory because nothing was saved to disk - All saved files behave as if it was never saved just like when you open notepad and apps and then restart.
Those open programs are on memory and when you restart, everything clears.
Same thing is happening because your hard disk have been encrypted.

The problem is that a reset might not work because your keys are all saved to disk.
System cannot recover those keys to perform a reset. You will need a fresh reinstalling of the system or you pay the ransom if their is any. Good luck.
Re: My Computer Usually Wipes Off All My Saved Files Anytime It Goes Off by splendidabbey(m): 11:58am On May 10, 2022
Seems like ransomware. A type of malware that encrypts ur file and requires u to pay a certain amount before gaining access to ur file.
U might have gotten it from been tricked into installing corrupted Java applet on ur bowser via pop-up and redirects.
If u don't care about losing ur files just format ur system and start over. If u want to try recovering ur files, u can give it a shot by installing quality and latest antivirus software.

Good Evening....

Is it any document or only Microsoft Word/Excel, etc. documents?

I experienced something similar a few years ago and discovered the documents were uploading on Microsoft One Drive, and I needed internet access to reach them there. Sometimes, I didn't find them there at all because they didn't save on One Drive.

Uninstall "Deep Freeze" or the like that has been installed in the system.

Go into "Program Files" in the "Control Panel", search for it and uninstall.

Thank me later.

Cmos has no business with that, Cmos handles basic settings like in the bios and time/date.

His issues are probably system restore/update, a corrupt windows, virus, or a faulty hard drive (HDD magnetic storage could be dying) but I strongly suspect virus and system restore
