"If we don't get candidate status, it means only one thing, that Europe is trying to deceive us. And we're not going to swallow it."

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in an interview with the Financial Times that Kyiv expects to receive the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union this summer. If this does not happen, then Europe is trying to deceive Ukraine .

Kuleba believes that Ukraine is the only place in Europe where people "are dying for the values on which the European Union is based."
"Three months ago, this country (Ukraine - ed.) did not even have the prospect of membership. Now they are discussing how long it will take," Kuleba commented on the words of the French leader.

The application for Ukraine's accession to the EU was written on February 28. The very next day, the European Parliament supported a resolution granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country.

At the same time, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg said that the European Union should not accept Ukraine into its ranks, and other models should be found for close cooperation between the EU and Kiev.

I'm beginning to have a feeling that Ukrain may have been deceive all along, with so much hope and over bloated support from the EU block.

Haven sacrificed so much now, I expect Ukraine to be granted some level of status. Could it be they (EU) are very much scared of Russia?
