The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has ordered all heads of agencies, departments, parastatals, and ambassadors with political ambitions to resign.

In a circular obtained by The PUNCH on Thursday morning, our correspondent observed that the office of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, among other agencies was copied.

The circular was signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

The circular with reference number SGF/OP/ I/S.3/XII/ 173 was titled, ‘Ministers, heads of government agencies, ambassadors and other appointees with political ambitions to resign

Some of them will resign and already they are ineligible to stand for the election primaries as time is no longer favourable for them.

This report is faulty. The president cannot sack the CBN governor unilaterally.

The President did not sack...he advised them to resign if....and if you want to contest...

It is a matter of choice....if you choose not to contest again, you remain in the office

Emefiele has hurt himself. Even if he's the anointed one, his recent actions have cast further doubts on his competency. People are yet to talk of the way he ran down our economy sef. Imagine the CBN failing to publish annual financial report since 2018. Omg!

Why won't it have an effect on him? Is he above the president? All the president needs to do to effect his sack is to play the Sanusi game on him or just write to the Senate to sack him.

Thank God Godwin Emeifele is leaving....from.day one of his leadership in CBN....Nigeria.has been feeling the bite of his wrong and hardship policy...

Because he has bigger shares in some.of these banks....he has make dem richer at the expense of the poor masses....
Even transaction.you do in bank is not free anymore...despite the fact that the bank.aslo are using our money for all sorts of investment...

The President will suspend him immediately and write to the senate to confirm his removal in public interest.
That will be bad for his career and political aspiration.
