Russia has lost one third of the forces it launched into its attack on Ukraine in February and is unlikely to make significant progress in its stalled offensive in eastern Ukraine, the U.K.’s Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

Despite small advances, Russia’s progress in the Donbas region beyond the territory its proxy forces had occupied since 2014 has largely lost momentum and is now significantly behind schedule, the ministry wrote in its daily assessment of the military situation on the ground.

Recent losses of Russian bridging equipment, intelligence capability and unmanned drones have almost certainly exacerbated these delays, the ministry said. Bridging equipment in particular has been in short supply throughout the conflict, restricting Russian’s offensive capacities.

In these conditions, and with limited ability to rapidly replace lost materiel, demoralized Russian forces are unlikely to make significant gains in Donbas in the next month, the ministry concluded.

In one of Moscow’s biggest military setbacks since the start of the war, Ukraine has repelled repeated attempts by Russian forces to cross the Siverskyi Donets river in the Luhansk region, slowing their momentum in Donbas.

Recent satellite imagery showed more than 70 Russian tanks, armored personnel carriers and other armor destroyed after Ukrainian artillery and airstrikes sank three pontoon bridges and shelled a Russian beachhead in the area.

America is fighting to destroy the only country, that's preventing them from having absolute power. The military might of Russia is of great concern.

America practice democracy at home, but on the international stage, they practice dictatorship. They have little or no respect for the UN, they have even threatened the UN and its affiliates on numerous occasions.

America respects sovereignty of a nation, for as long as the nation is serving their interests. Once you fall out of line, and you refuse to fall back in line...... Forget it.

Actually it's Ukrainian army invading the republic of donesk and lughansk. These two republic are fighting for their independence from Ukraine. And they are determined no matter what. Ukraine can't kill 14000 donbas people and get away with it.

Donesk and Luhansk are regions in ukraine. You don't invade a sovereign nation because you feel your tribesmen are being marginalised. Demographics of those regions show that ratio of Ukrainian to Russian is 1:1. Would you say jos north is an hausaland because majority of residents speaks hausa.
