Russia has reacted angrily to the plans by Finland and Sweden to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The intergovernmental military alliance already has 30 member states – 28 in Europe, the United States, and Canada.

On Monday, Moscow warned that the admission of the two countries would be a grave mistake.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said there will be far-reaching consequences.

Ryabkov added that military tensions with the two Scandinavian nations would increase.

“They should have no illusions that we will simply resign ourselves to this”, Interfax news agency quoted him saying.

In a chat with Finnish Head of State Sauli Niinistö, President Vladimir Putin said his country would be making an error.

This is just an ignorant take.

Both Sweden and Finland have been quasi-NATO countries for over 2 decades and they regularly partake in every NATO drill. What they’re doing now is basically making it formal and Russia just has to respond the right way.

The prize for Americans has always been Ukraine, especially Sea of Azov and Black Sea.

It is an act of War against Russia for Finland and sweeden to join nato..

Especially those Putin supporters that keep talking out of sentiment and hatred for USA......Putin supporters keep shifting the goal post and hoping on a Russian army that has been heavily exposed in their military approach and tactics.......Putin supporters will tell you Ukraine is not winning the war but to me debating who is winning the war between Almighty Russian and little Ukraine after 60+ days is a victory for Ukraine already because Putin supporters made us to understand that Kiev will be taken in 3 days but after 2 months we are still debating who is winning.......... Putin supporters even said Zielinsky the president of Ukraine was a comedian and he was misleading his nation,but they forgot that Ukraine has a very strong democracy and the people from the children to the old are ready to lay down their life to fight for their sovereignty....... Ukraine parliament approved the resistance, Ukraine army where ready to defend Ukraine till the last man and this is evident in what is happening in Azovsta steel plant in Mariapol.......This war is not about Zielinsky or USA as I was made to think....... Ukrainians where just sick and tired of been bullied by Russia.........Putin supporters are very quick to say Russia has Nukes, Russia has 6500 nuclear war heads.......Nukes and war head is nothing if you can not deliver it to it's target successfully...... This Ukrainian war has exposed Russia's poor logistics and tactics....... corruption has really crippled Russia and Putin seems to be blind to his country's capabilities militarily........ Russia can not win a nuclear war with UK talkless of NATO or USA ......... Russia's nukes will all be shot down in the Atlantic before it reaches it's destination and with a speed of light Russia will be turned into vapor........ Having Nukes is one thing but having a very smart way of delivery is another thing entirely....... having Nukes is one thing but have a very rubbost mechanism to defend against nukes is another thing entirely.......If Russia uses it's nukes on a war theatre then Russia will be totally destroyed........ Putin supporters will tell you that Ukraine was abandoned by NATO but they forgot that Ukraine was never a member of NATO and Ukrains application was not accepted so how can you abandon a country that was never your member?.......Now that Sweden and Finland will be Fast tracked into NATO let us see if NATO will abandon them if Russia dares attack them.........
