Contract staffing is one of the major issues affecting us in this country. Someone would work his azz off in a very long period of time and be paid meagre because the person that was contracted would cut a reasonable amount of cash from their salaries. And at the end, no terminal benefits, no savings.. Pathetic!

Just pity those who stood on the queue in the sun and rain to bring this calamity upon themselves.
Truly, elections have consequences.

The cost of diesel is not the only root cause. Adoption of new technologies and customer service channels also contribute to it.

Nigeria is a developing country at the precipice of technological revolution competing with semi illiteracy (sticking to traditional ways of doing things).

If you're not developing yourself in this computer age then your opportunity for white collar jobs is greatly reduced.

It means they will downsize double in the south East, because of sit at home.
They do not know that one. Most of them will be here shouting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Access Bank for example had to close down some of their branches in the SE. When they acquired Diamond bank, they allowed both banks branches to be operating at the same time, even when they are on the same street. I have seen scenarios of this in Lagos, where you have the old access bank branch and the defunct Diamond branch, with their iconic Diamond logo operating on the same street.

However, Access have now chosen to close down some of the duplicating branches in the East. I am sure the insecurity and uncertainty is fueling that decision. SE have not witnessed any foreign direct investment (FDI) since Peter Obi partnered with the foreign owners of International Breweries, makers of Hero, the popular beer in the SE to invest in the state

Technology has played a major role in this. Digital banking is the future...most of the tasks that used to be done in the banks are now being done via the app. So there is no need for all those cashiers in the banking halls. The writing has been on the hall. There has been noticeably less cashers in most banking halls over the years. I use the US as an example. I have been into the banking hall (including drive-thru) may be 4 times in the last couple of years. And in the hall, there were just about 2-3 cashiers in there. Nigeria will get to that point eventually.

The absolute truth!

As someone that works in software, and have contracted at several banks here in the US, we are pretty much automating everything. For example, though we've been accepting auto-deposit of checks for at least 10 years, by taking a picture of it via phone camera, the last bank I worked at, the project involved refining the scanning of the check image, and improving the security features associated with online check deposits.

Digital banking is the way forward. Many bank employees and contract staff would eventually lose their jobs.

As in! These people knows how to be cold and insensitive. One of them even declared300, yet they offer contracts to enslave people. I blame the system and weak labor unions that cannot protect workers interest.
Rich4god:
What sort of news is this. Una knw how much banks made last year alone.

Except greedy banks that just want to sack for no reason, there is nothing like lack of profit.

Some banks made as high as 180-200 billion PAT last year.

That's why I vowed not to work for the government.
No profits, no change unless you're corrupt. It's better to be stagnant in the streets than to be working with no changes.

Technology? I sigh when I hear this line. Have you been to the bank recently? You will queue unless
you are making bulk deposit. I presumethe Technologyis not rightly deployed.

Lol.

I guess you are around 30 years and above.

You are not their target audience sir.

Young people prefer to do things online.

When someone steals your money through USSD, go to a bank with many branches to complain. You will understand that it is not by having many branches.
Do you know most fraud occur on kuda? It is a fraudster paradise

The technology are rightly implemented.

The people are not yet adapted.

You can literally transfer any amount you want to another person just by using your atm but people will prefer to go to the banking hall to do that.
