But tell them you are student and they let you go especially when your body stature matches the student profile.

Unfortunately, decades of tolerating rampant corruption have thoroughly destroyed the moral fibre of most Nigerians, even the most supposedly "religious" ones. Nigerians only mind corruption as long as they, their friends and their relatives aren't beneficiaries of it. That's why they expend so much more energy fighting over zoning of high office than they do scrutinizing any policy positions the candidates might possess: because in the end all that matters is that "their person" will fill public posts with time-wasting parasites of the same ethnicity and religion, hand out inflated contracts to "kinsmen", and provide special access to "official" forex for round-tripping to people of the same tribe. As long as they have a shot at getting some of the crumbs that fall off the table when sharing "national cake", who cares that the end result is no electricity, unpaved roads, high infant mortality, widespread insecurity, and incessant bribe-seeking even in the country's main international gateway? Even worse than all of this is that Nigerians never, ever learn from their mistakes, and are therefore doomed to keep repeating them well into the future.
